Yesterday's front page of The Sun: main headline story, ie the most important thing that happened in the whole world in the previous 24 hours, was something about a reserve United centre-back taking some girls back to his hotel room after a match and trashing said room to the tune of £2,400!

Today's front page of the same newspaper: a small headline and accompanying picture of a first-team regular Manchester City player who has failed a drugs test.

Does anyone else see the inconsistency in the reporting of these two stories and the relative priorities that Britain's biggest-selling newspaper has for them?

It's not about what crime/offence/misdemeanour has been committed; it's all about who has committed said offence. With this in mind, I'll just re-iterate what I suggested here yesterday; namely that too many people not only on this thread but across society in general do not think for themselves, but instead just go out and buy newspapers such as The Sun, take in everything that they read as fact and then come onto here and regurgitate the same crap over and over again, simply because they are either too lazy or not bright enough to think for themselves and see how the media operates.

So come on, please stop changing the subject and admit that Ferguson's interview post-Chelsea and the shenanigans that occurred at the end of the Celtic v Rangers match were really far more entertaining than most of the football on show. Admit it, if it wasn't for controversy and injustice in football it wouldn't be anywhere near as exciting and newsworthy as it is!

Come on lads, I know you're out there - respond and let me know if you at least partly agree with me!

It's not as if The S*n hasnt history for their trashy reporting. You think they report harshly on Man Utd?? I'm sure i dont need to remind everyone why that downmarket rag has been boycotted in Liverpool for nearly 22 years. I wouldnt wipe my arse with it

I would just like to refer back to my earlier comments regarding fergie, the reason i always associate him with the late entry to the carling cup of the bigger clubs is because i watched him give a post match interview after Man utd had been held to a draw by one the lower league teams. He stated that it was a joke the big clubs had to play so many domestic cup games when they also had european games
to play. The following season the rules were changed, now while i do not believe they were changed solely because of fergie, i do believe the constant criticism of the competition rules from the premier leagues top managers certainly had a bearing on things.

As for his dispute with the BBC when i say that the allegations were not proved, i meant the fa never pressed charges. But you would have to watch the program for yourselves to see if you believe the evidence or not.

And as for him constantly bringing the game into disrepute, perhaps constantly was too stronger a word, but he certainly has a lot to say for himself. He is not the only manager at fault for this as most of the mangers complain about the referee but he just seems to be at the forefront of things.

Please note, i am have nothing against Man Utd i believe they are one of the best footballing sides in the premiership. I am in fact a West Brom fan and as such fully accept my lot in life, Promotion, lots of nice football, lots of defeats, relegation, promotion etc etc....

All i really want and i fully understand i am asking a lot, but would,nt it be nice if the managers simply came out and said ' we were beaten by the better side or we were a bit unlucky ' instead of turning round and blaming the ref.

Perhaps i,m too much of an idealist.

Ps Bought not brought, how embarrassing. It must be due to the mental anguish i am still suffering after englands defeat to ireland in the cricket world cup.

the sun, kelvin mckenzie (the editor) and the police fucked up. when the bbc had the fa cup, they were at a liverpool game, they had kelvin mckenzie on, there were loads of hostility towards the bbc from liverpool.

if kelvin mckenzie admitted that the articles at the time were false, the sun newspaper would be bankrupt and same for the police force in the sheffield area.

anyone singing songs about munich or hillsbrough need to be kicked out of football for life or more idealy shot.

bought is payment, brought is past tense for bring, eg a case was brought before the jury. get a dictionary

its more embarrassing to admitting that you watch the shite that england dish out at the world cup.
