New series, maybe, but many of the same old opinions. At least they mentioned more than just the comedies.
AoF
3 - Nouveau Horror
I did have an outside hope they might look at Lifeforce, but no such luck. They did get Kim Newman in to talk about his specialist subject, which isn't the same, but is pretty good in a different way.

1 - Jools Holland
Pete is impressed with Jools' layout, and they go to spot the Eurostar too. Meanwhile, in a subplot, Pete has a big new layout he's making to go in Chester Cathedral. As you do.
LT&BN, w/PW
2 - Eddie Izzard
Not one but two sets, cunningly donated to a local civic group in Bexhill, and thus maintained by them. One is an all-winter scene, which has novelty charm.

The Footage Detectives
A bit of Behind the Scenes action as Noel and Mike show how they look at found reels in the office. In this case, what unfortunately looks like something from late 30s Germany.

Fascinating, and highly intellectual panel discussion centred on debunking Darwin's theory of evolution. As Someone who is strongly Atheist in his 'beliefs' (I have flipped on occasion to agnostic and back), In one sense, it made for uncomfortable listening - although no less riveting - to hear Evolution as a theory dismantled piece by piece in - - I have to admit - a very convincing manner, using the construct of machines and their working components, as examples of how 'natural selection/chance' which was Darwins approach, could not be real! Similarly with cells/molecules etc. One example used was a lawnmower, and how deliberate design was the only way to 'create' it, instead of using random components/happen chance - not designed for the purpose - to build it, which wouldn't allow it to work as intended!

All well and good, but - for me at least - the eminent gentlemen did not convincingly explain how everything we know and understand, could be deliberately designed and 'created' by a 'God' that didn't manifest in a conscious way with thought, reason and application, to arrive at the end result! So 'God' as an almighty 'being' remains anathema to me.

There appear to be a series of these discussions. I look forward to viewing more! Nothing approaching this type of programming on the TV as a whole. They simply wouldn't know how!!

6.5 Kent; golf, painting, fencing, picking cherries, and stories about Sandwich.
SC's GDO
6.6 West Lothian; a fair bit on the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, and again end of series padding reshowing bits from earlier shows.

Despite my pessimism at the end of the previous series, I wouldn't be surprised if she's back for Series 7 in 2024.

3 - Francis Rossi
I wonder at the selection for this show, as Rossi is not only a man without a trainset (though he claims to want one), but he seems unenthusiastic about starting one, even after Pete uses a 3D Printer to give him a start on scenery. I doubt a follow-up show would find him having actually gone through with it.

Dick Emery - Comedy Gold
Quite in depth, surprisingly. Several of his ex-wives and partners were interviewed, many of his kids, and celeb admirers, eg Charlie "mmm, Fast Show owes a lot to Dick Emery" Higson. Vicki Michelle did a sketch with him, so she was mildly better value. & so on.
