Heatwave - When Britain Burned
They didn't mention 2022 in the title, maybe it would lose the charm. Anyway, less guests than usual, more news footage, so Clare Nasir and Simon Calder sounded responsible, whilst Vanessa Feltz complained about a lack of sex. Oh, and the Wennington Inferno got a good mention.

I've just watch the second series of the Australian Traitors.

My impression of Australian's have totally changed after watching the show.

It's also not impressed the Australian viewers as the network have not taken up the show for next year.

2 - Dave finishes off his free holiday by going to Venice, then Naples. At the latter, he amusingly goes to a seance with a 93 year old woman, just as thunder and lightning happen. She gives him a message he seems happy with, and the credits report she since died.

A pleasant enough effort, though more about Italy than about Charles Dickens, and I'm sceptical that an actor of his experience would have been so ignorant about Dickens.
Dickens: Phantoms & Fiction
Dave wasn't quite finished, but with no holidays this time. He considered ghosts for a while, then drifted off to consider magic, and mesmerism. He also gave the impression he was pretty familiar with Dickens, so maybe he speed-read a lot since filming the previous shows, or they were filmed a lot later. Or he was exaggerating the first time.

HARDtalk: Mustafa Barghouti
Stephen Sackur actually cuts the guy some slack, which is odd for him, but better than he got on other channels.

White Christmas: 1981
John Kettley back on weather duty, but Maggie Philbin was much the sensiblest contributor otherwise, what with Neil Kinnock and John Sergeant having little to say, and actor Edward Peel talking about working on Emmerdale Farm at the time.

Comedy from Merton to Enfield
1 - Paul Whitehouse
2003 series repeated this week. Various comics praise various other comics. Unintentional comedy in watching Ed Byrne and co looking 20 years younger, and noting that Kevin Day and Bob Mills don't get on telly any more, even on the really dire channels.
