I hope the Strettle decision doesn't dominate the discussion of the match - it looked inconclusive at best from the replays as I saw them and surely that means the right decision was made.

I think he did get it down but I've more of an issue with why England didn't then get a penalty for the previous offence. But as you say it was a terrific game and it would be a shame if an officiating controversy overshadowed it. Sadly that's what tends to happen when you put Walsh in charge.

I agree with rickhardo, I think it was a try and should have been given, although I don't think it affected the result as I wouldn't have backed Flood to kick the conversion which England would still have needed.

I wouldn't call that feeling funny. Ireland are more than capable of winning today. The French were very lucky to get away with an ordinary performance at Murrayfield - play like that again and they'll lose. Really looking forward to the battle between two of the best back rows around.

RE: 6 Nations
Mervyn Davies has died after a battle with cancer. A magnificent player for Wales and the Lions, Merv the Swerve revolutionised the no 8 position. If the Welsh needed any extra reason to win the Slam tomorrow they've got it now. RIP Mervyn.

RE: 6 Nations
So another 6 Nations is over. Congratulations to Wales, worthy winners and a terrific performance yesterday. More encouraging stuff for England too with a magnificent display from the pack although some of the handling from both sides was pretty dire, whatever the conditions.
I know it's a year early but how's this for a Lions XV if they were playing a Test next week?

15 R Kearney
14 T Bowe
13 M Tuilagi
12 J Roberts
11 G North
10 J Sexton
9 M Phillips
8 J Heaslip
7 S Warburton (capt)
6 D Lydiate
5 P O'Connell
4 I Evans
3 A Jones
2 R Best
1 A Corbisiero

I think that lot could beat the Wallabies and the great thing is that there are other players pushing for that line up. Just at no 8 you've got Faletau, Morgan and Denton any of whom could do a job. Roll on 2013.

RE: 6 Nations
Wales were the best team by far in the 6 nations and justly deserved the championship.
France were disappointing especially their noted backs.....

And I have to agree with our yellow friend Rick, England were much improved through the competition. In game one, they were poor, but Scotland failed to score. But England made gradual improvement and were very fine winners against Ireland.
