RE: Cycling
My route is about 4.5 miles. It has a mix of hills, flats, road and cycle path. It also has a couple of dodgy corners too Big Grin When I was doing it regularly it was taking nearly what it would in my car. I think somewhere between 15-20 minutes was my best. 25 minutes average.

RE: Cycling
I've been cycling for years. My old work route was roughly 13 miles a day (7.5 each way), 5 sometimes 6 times a week.
If my interview goes well tuesday, looks like I'll be back to that journey maybe 4 times a week (once I invest in a new bike) Smile

There are a few tips when cycling in the wind. I don't know if you are commuting or just cycling for fun, with friends or for fitness, but I guess the rules remain the same.

Make yourself as aerodynamic as possible, tuck back onto the saddle and bring your head down lower, tuck in your legs and elbows as much as possible and generally make yourself smaller. This will allow you to cut through the wind easier with less resistance. Keeping at a steady pace in a higher gear will help also.
If you are cycling with friends then sit behind them so they are effectively shielding you from the wind. You will have to take it in turns though as the person in front does a lot of the work for the person behind.

Well here's to hoping you get the job Munch Big Grin
Will you be working back at the same place again, or is it similar distance as your last job?
What bike are you looking to get, and what bike did you ride before ?

I have a 4.5 mile route to work (+20 train journey) Enjoy the buzz of the crazy commuter traffic when I leave work, gets rid of any aggression after a bad day.
