RE: Ofcom Discussion
I don't know what effect this will have on the Adult Channels but on the 3rd July the SKY EPG will be subject to a reshuffle, which includes the 900+ channels. No new channel numbers have yet been released. They could infact put in new safety parental features which could make life a lot easier for them and hopefully lesson the hassle they are getting currently from Ofcom. I allways suggested that you could put in a separate 4 digit number to unlock the Adult Channels which could easily be age verified, let's hope that the changes are for the better. http://www.entertainment-iuk.com/2012/04...-3rd-july/

RE: Ofcom Discussion
To me the 4 digit pin is completely acceptable, and the Logical way to go in my opinion, as i mentioned in one of my earlier posts, this whole scenario that Ofcom are trying to say that the 4 digit pin is not totally secure is absurd. Again the responsibility lies totally with the parents, they need to take responsibility.
With this channel rejig in july, there is a possibility as SB has mentioned that there could be a possible separate pin for the Adult channels themselves which would make more sense.
I think at the end of the day, however hard Ofcom try to bring down the Babe channels, i think they've come to the realisation that these channels are here to stay, and in doing so, this channel rejig with the possibility of a 4 digit pin for the babe channels could be the answer we've all been waiting for.
We all must live in hope

RE: Ofcom Discussion
Continental the eternal optimist I think it's best to be a half full man than a half empty one. This suggestion which I've made probably won't happen however and the Ofcom tirade against the babe channels will continue in earnest. Sad but true, the battle between them and Ofcom is only just starting, tougher and more trying times lye ahead I predict before our ultimate goal is realised.
But the day the babe channels do get the better of Ofcom is likely to come out of the blue and the most likely source will be pressure towards them from a main stream channel which ultimately really is our own realistic hope and salvation.
One thing that is true is that Ofcom refuse to listen to rational thought or idea's that would provide the solution. Ofcom are bigots and their intention is to have the babe channels removed permantly off the face of this planet, make no mistake about that.
Nobody can predict the future and to be honest the pendulum could spring either way.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
I admit I've freely been guilty in the past of going over the top instead of keeping my feet firmly on the ground, back in 2006 all the adult channels were grouped together when SKY first did a reshuffle of the channels so this latest reshuffle is doubtful to change anything but who knows, if you build yourself up with false hope then 9 out of 10 times you're going to end up bitterly disappointed. But on the other hand it's also important that you remain hopeful.
10 years now since Babestation first hit the screens and in that time the production values have just gone from strength to strength. The only thing we need sorting out is the current OTT censorship laws which are damaging the evolution of the channels.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
Look at the fuss Ofcom created when Rihanna and Christina Aguilera performed on the X-Factor a few years ago with ITV or even recently Ofcom making a big deal about E! Entertainm Channel airing Girls From The Playboy Mansion during the day which was censored BTW but yet Ofcom still made an issue about it and fined the channel. Or even the likes of MTV with Ofcom trying to dictate to them about what they deem appropriate and inappropriate video's to be airing.
We are entering an era of too much unneccesary censorship with the prime focus as allways being on sex and nudity aswell as pandering to the easily offended brigade. I mean FFS we can't even watch live coverage of Big Brother these days incase it upsets the censor's. Everybody is a target here and nobody is a winner. Surely this is no way to run a civilised democracy.
That's why I said our best hope has to come from one of the big guns taking on Ofcom for all their worth.
The rest of Europe don't do as much as laugh at us but instead pity us, they must be wondering how a Country that stood alone as the only one not invaded during the Second World War and who once stood up to the fascist regime of Nazi Germany ever found themselves governed in this way in the first place, the whole logic defies belief
