RE: Football Banter
Why would either paul lambert or Martinez go to villa. they have teams where the owners will put no pressure on them to get results and the fans wont be calling for there heads when they lose 2-3 games on a trot. ok if villa were a top 6 team or had the money or potential to be again then sure they might consider it.

It would just be a sideways step for Lambert and Martinez to go to Aston Villa in my opinion, maybe Holloway is another name that might interest Aston Villa and he is also able to work under a tight budget thats the type of manager Aston Villa need someone who is a good motivator and can work under a tight budget

It was clearly a foul on the goalkeeper, just like Nat Lofthouse's goal for Bolton against Utd in the 1958 FA Cup Final.
Utd lost that match 2-0, but the old Utd fans I know, still hold it against Bolton.

We didnt get relegated because of that "goal". We got relegated because of being crap for the majority of the season, partly due to being without our two best players for virtually the entire season. And as for '58 the goal stood because at the time it was legal. It isn't now but it was then. If your old Utd fans still can't get over that they really need to get a life.

Not necessarily. You can't predict what would have happened if that goal had been given. It was several weeks from the end of the season, and indeed in the first half of the match. Somewhere there's a parallel universe where that goal stands and everything that follows is affected. The last time we went down some Bolton fans blamed the fact that a Nathan Blake header which crossed the line wasn't given - it was in the fourth game of the season. You can't blame stuff like that unless it happens with the very last kick of a season. We went down because we weren't good enough, QPR were better than us over the season so they deserve to stay up. Although if they keep Joey Barton they should be immediately docked 10 points - what a complete arsehole.

You're bang on there, if a team gets relegated after 38 games, then they deserve to go down, because they play poorly overall throughout the season not because of goal that was unfairly given against them

can see if west ham dont make it back can see them sacking big sam for Di canio as he seems to be doing a good job at swindon

Yeah i got the same philosiphy i mean could blame the refs for some of the shocking decisions against rovers this season like the Everton penalty that never was

like the one at the Reebok that we were not given Wink i mean when i heard kean say we were not given it cos of the fabrice muamba situation made my bloody boil . we were sent down for all the games we should have won and didnt

Can West Ham really afford to sack Big Sam, as are they not still in a financial mess. Plus the fans would love to get rid of Big Sam if it meant Di Canio was going to be manager

There is no chance O'Neill go back to Aston Villa

Agreed. Zero possibility. Bridges utterly torched.
