*UFC 146: dos Santos vs. Mir spoilers follow*





The first UFC all heavyweight main card delivered. Really good show. Glad Frank Mir lost and I like that Roy Nelson and Dan Hardy won. Antonio Silva was a bloody mess. Damn.

Yeah it was a quality show.

Woops I forgot Dan Hardy, it was good to see him get a win, like Joe said it's been a while. You can tell he's been working hard, he looked well composed especially when he took a big shot, I'm looking forward to seeing him hopefully fight again in September on the 153 card in his home city of Nottingham.

Stefan Struve is still going strong & surely now has to get moved up interms of his caliber of opponents, yes it's a good way of steadly moving along a young fighter whilst he perfects his skills & puts on weight but I think he's earned a top 10 opponent next.

Roy Nelson looked like a dwarf in this fight & the overhand right was probably the only way he was going to win it in the stand up.

Cain Velasquez, definitely back in business!!!

I gave Frank Mir the benifit of the doubt but for me he's the MMA version of Joe Cole, he's got all the tallent, probably the most qualified MMA fighter in the sport but just can't seem to put it all together. People keep bringing up the the 2 years he spent away recovering from the bike accident but that was 2004 to 2006, he's had 13 fights since then 8-5 which is a decent but not great record. In this time he won the intrim belt & lost it in his next fight & has been unsuccessful in trying to win it on 2 more occasions. I doubt he'll ever win the title again, he seems to be in the same boat as Rich Franklin.

Junior dos Santos looks like he's just strolling through fights at the minute but I think that'll change in the rematch with Velasquez which will surely be next up for both fighters in september time. - Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier may be on his way to the UFC with Dana White saying. “Yes, he will end up coming over to the UFC. The thing is I’d love to see the guy go down to 205. I think he’s a small heavyweight over here, I’m not telling him, the guy wants to stay at heavyweight, I’m not going to tell him where to go, but I think it would be a good move for him to go to 205,”.

Well, the finale was really great, in my opinion. So glad Kampman won. I've been hoping he'd face Diaz at some point, but that's unlikely to happen now, obv.
So happy for Hardy's great TKO win! (or was it a straight ko?) I've slept since and can't quite remember, lol.

Gutted Cruiz won't be facing Faber, but the replacement oponant is very of a very high calibre.

A little MMA clothing advice;

It's zippered, so it's certainly not a great MMA top as it claims to be (I certainly wouldn't wear it whilst submission grappling), but I wore it for the trip back and it's great to now have a TapouT top for cycling. It's great.

Plus they're ridiculously cheap & suitable for other types of training purposes or simply as a nice MMA fans' t-shirt.
