No mate, the difference between Italy and England were (a) Over 500 completed passes (around 850-320) (b) 35 efforts on goal to 4 and (c ) composure in the penalty shoot-out. The better team by a country mile won that game.

It was as one sided and embarrassing as the Spain v Ireland game without the goals to show it.

Judge me by my size do you? Hmmm? Hmmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the force. And a powerful ally it is.

that was i said in post #770 page 77.

Pirlo would have been a revelation in the PL, though I suspect there would be very few clubs who could afford him.

in the past milan considered your past it when you hit 40 not 33. pirlo will either go to usa, middle east or russia for a one last big pay day. also seedorf has been released as well, two decent midfielders for free.

Pirlo could be great for the prem play in the hole and direct play with others doing the running bit like scholes does for united.

RE: 2012 UEFA European Championship
Shame but Italy deserved to go through simple as that

How does everyone rate the players then?

Hart 8 - Made many decent saves, pretty fautless bar the shootout
Johnson 6 - Either brilliant, or painfully awful, mostly the latter. Best player vs. Italy
Terry 8 - Best defender, make some great tackles, blocks, headers, interceptions etc. although got some of the basics wrong
Lescott 7 - Solid if unspectacular, opposite to JT
Cole 7 - Good, but didn't offer too much attack-wise
Milner 4 - Lacked quality in final third, but worked and had to babysit Johnson
Parker 5 - Looked well out of his depth, but showed great spirit
Gerrard 8 - Inconsistent in general play, but his brilliant crossing carried us from an attacking perspective
Young 4 - Biggest dissapointment, best England player over the last year or so, vs. Ukraine was his only half decent game
Walcott 6 - Best individual performance vs. Sweden, but not much else, although to be fair he didn't start any games
The Ox 6 - Good experience for the lad, great prospect
Rooney 4 - Not fit, Carroll should've started over him
Welbeck 7 - Done well, couldn't of asked for much more
Carroll 7 - A threat when he played

Hodgson 8 - Taking everything into context (time, injuries, JT/Rio situation, overall quality of the squad), he's done a very good job in my opinion.

If Ancelotti stayed at Chelsea I guarentee we would've bought Pirlo Sad

Can you believe this lad Paul Merson saying Pirlo is past it. Pirlo is not past it, for fuck sake, did this guy watch the match last night, did he watch Pirlo in the group stage. Pirlo was also one of the reasons Juventus had a great season last season, he is a brilliant player

RE: 2012 UEFA European Championship
Even if we won that penalty shootout how would we have got on against the Germans? We looked absolutely shattered because we have to work so bloody hard chasing all night. The Germans rested Podolski, Muller and Gomez against Greece. They must have been praying for England to win.

So it's a good job that the England management had put together a dossier of all the penalties that the Italians had previously taken.
And Hart had even spent a few minutes before the shootout studying information charts and vids on an IPad.
This one had obviously been missed.
