R.I.P Eric Sykes

Sad to hear the passing of Eric Sykes.I use to love watching Sykes when I was growing up.

Eric died at the age of 89 after a short illness.

Genuine funny man and quality script writer.

Best remembered as one of the cast of 'The Telegoons'

Not sure I am familiar with him although the name rings a bell. At 89 he had a great innings and no doubt he influenced many of today's writers and actors. R.I.P

Worth checking out a couple of slapstick short films.The Plank 1967 (also starring Tommy Cooper) or the 1979 re-make which has a lot of familier faces.Not entirely silent,but little dialogue.Also Rhubarb 1969 & the 1980 version Rhubarb Rhubarb.The entire script contain only the word rhubarb.Both comedy classics. Just heard this on the radio, such sad news. A brilliant writer, a naturally funny performer and always came across as a thoroughly good bloke. The Plank is simply one of the funniest things ever. And any man who managed to share an office with Spike Milligan for so long deserves a hell of a lot of respect!

Just heard the news of his passing really sad to hear as i grew up on his shows R.I.P Eric Sykes.

There goes one of the last big ones. People don't realise he was up there with spike milligan. Legend. Good life, good innings though.

A true comic genius RIP

a sad loss eric was a true genius in performance and writing

All time favourite of mine,not only a great comic actor,but a genius comic writer,"The Plank" is a great example of how funny Eric Sykes was,i believe his TV show with Hattie Jaques ran for many years,a real loss.
