What a ridiculous comment.

Just over 3 weeks before the new season and we still don't know which team is getting to take Rangers place in the SPL or even what league Rangers are playing in.

Messrs Doncaster and Reagan- Shambles.

Sort it out one way or another so everyone can move on and build for the new season.

it will be later today (friday). it is likely that rangers could be in div3 after several clubs are rejecting the spl proposal of new rangers being in div1.

Division 3 for Rangers newco is confirmed.
Still unclear whether a decision will be taken on who gets the final SPL place today or if it will be put off even longer.

RE: Scottish Football
rangers newco will be starting in div3. 25 clubs out of 30 voted for rangers newco to be placed in div3. i think this the right decision.

rangers newco are not the 1st team to start again in div3 couple years ago livingstone when bust like rangers and were relegated alway to the div3.

chairmen from dunfermline and clyde fear that the vote could be overruled by spl and sfa which would mean sfa and spl forcing the proposals onto the clubs of sfl. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18826839

why should a new club get a short cut to the top league when other clubs struggle to get there?

In a word - money. The SPL and the SFA don't want to lose the broadcasting contract with Sky.

But whose fault is it? Rangers!

I look forward to seeing them visit East Stirling ASAP Bounce

Because Scottish Football 'needs' Rangers to be in the top flight.
Because Rangers account for almost 40% of all the fans in Scottish football.
Because Rangers are too big to fail.
Because if they aren't then there will be social unrest.

I could go on with the reasons that bodies such as the SFA have claimed that Rangers should have been voted in to SFL1.

Rangers or rather Sevco 5088 FC have been put into SFL3 as they should have been the moment the CVA failed. That it has taken this long simply proves that Scottish Football is corrupt to the very core and that the rules can be disregarded if it is Rangers or Celtic facing punishment.

People seem to think that the Huns will steamroll the lower divisions. They currently have 8 (?) senior squad players, most of them will now be seeking to move elsewhere. All they are left with is a bunch of youngsters and whilst SFL3 is hardly the best football in the world, I can't see a bunch of 19 year olds steamrolling SFL3.

Of course BDO have yet to take over as liquidators at Rangers Football Club (IA) and if they feel that the sale of Ibrox and Murray Park to Mr. Green for £5.5m was not in the best interests of the creditors (considering they were valued at approx. £100m in accounts the year before) then they can reverse the sale (I wouldn't be surprised if they did).

The question is - if that happens what happens to Rangers? They would have no stadium and no training ground which would as far as I am aware mean that they would be ineligible to hold SFL/SFA membership and thus would likely be declared as having gone bust.

Of course if the sale isn't reversed, SFL3 will generate nowhere near the kind of revenue that they got in the SPL and operating training grounds and stadiums costs money, and despite what has been said by Fans of Rangers (that they 'don't do walking away') I doubt many will want to see their team in SFL3. Ibrox will see big crowds for SFL standard but they won't be getting anything like the 46,000 they were averaging last season in the SPL.

These are all possible eventualities but if I can assure one thing - Rangers will probably not be back in the premier division for some time.

they would get permission to ground share with another club or use hampden park with queens park fc. i cant see celtic allowing rangers to share their ground.

if the sale did not go through or got reversed then rangers would face expulsion like gretna when they went bust after failing to find a buter so annan was voted in.

hearts and dundee utd played suggestions that spl could overturn their decision to reject newco rangers membership to spl. the sfl are calling for a vote of no confidence in stewart regan sfa chairman. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18841325

the only clubs i feel sorry for are dunfermline, dundee and the other promoted or relegated teams from div1, 2 and 3 has they dont know which league they are in.

dundee have been invited by the spl to be club 12 meaning dunfermline will stay div1. dunfermline chairman said before the meeting if they are not reinstated in the spl they will sue sfa and spl.
