RE: Liverpool FC
I can't see us paying more than £5m for Clint Dempsey as he's in the last year of his contract & £5 would be a good price for someone of his talent, his best position is just behind the striker but we'd probable play him left or right of the 3, he'd be good for double figures per season as well as assists.
- I get what you’re saying TJ but look at Spain & Fernando Llorente, I don't think he got a single minute in the Euros, that’s after his best season yet, 30 goals, but he just doesn't fit the Spain style & it's that style that Brendan Rodgers wants us to emulate.
- Dempsey will bring us penetration in the final third along with the possibility of at least 8 to 10 goals depending on appearances, you can't say that about Andy Carroll with full confidence.
- Why put it on the American owners just because Dempsey’s American & we're going there on tour, Kenny is Scottish & bought Charlie Adam. I think we may be going for him as a cheap option rather than someone like say Theo Walcott who even in the last year of his contract is still being talked about as a £15m man due to his age & nationality & the club doesn't want to be paying that without Champions League football. Fast forward 12 months, we're in the Champions League & Theo's got 1 year left, we'll be willing to pay £12m, £15m at a push.

RE: Liverpool FC
There's better players than Clint Dempsey out there for us surely. He was good last season, but really? Not sure. It's not about cheaper options Mitchell, it's about getting the strongest group together we possibly can before the window shuts. I've been so impressed by Rodgers so far, the desire he seems to have to make us a force again, the way he speaks about the club, the area, his classy touches... Superb!
On the other side, if these Carroll rumours turn out to be true, and he's sold before Rodgers has even seen him train, then the lad's been poorly treated by the club i'd say. No question. That'd be the first thing since he came that i didn't agree with. Hope Andy scores a barrel load wherever he ends up and fulfils his potential.
