Raheem's fantastic already. His natural ability is phenomenal. He'll terrorise any defense in the premiership no matter when he's put in. If Rodgers is good to his word (If your good enough, your old enough) then the kid's going nowhere on loan. He'll have a massive impact this season.
Not a wide man in england could lace this kid's boots. Spoke to my mates old grandpa the other day, the man's seen it all, all the legends and i asked him if he'd seen Sterling... He said "yep". "The new John Barnes" i said. He looked down at his tea and said "He'll be better than Barnes kid."
"Andy is a terrific young player. I had a brief chat with all the lads and over the next couple of weeks I'll be able to speak to them with more confidence and on a one to one basis.
"There is no doubt he is a terrific talent. There has been a lot of unfair criticism aimed towards Andy.
"He is a player who can play in a number of styles and it was a wee bit unfair on him (for people) to say he couldn't fit into the way I would want to play.
"For me, your game is based on your players, the players you have. I am here to win games.
"We've got a number of very, very talented players in the group, of which Andy is one."
He shouldn't be talking about players from other teams like that and he certainly shouldn't be telling Liverpool what to do - shows a complete lack of respect!

Well as a Newcastle fan, yes it sounds like a bit of taping up by Pardew to unsettle Carroll. Pardew seems certain Carroll will go, but GNP has quoted a couple of posts ago that Rodgers feels Carroll has a part to play at Liverpool, so that dismisses what Pardew is saying. I don't like taping up of players from managers, which is a shame as a Newcastle fan, because since Ashley has come in we have tried to keep our cards close to our chest and go about our business in the transfer market quietly

Strictly speaking, tapping up is speaking to a player, not generally making comments about a player.
It's still a bit naughty, and the likes of Barcelona are past masters at talking about players to let their interest be known so as to unsettle the player. As stated, it shows a lack of respect, but whether it's against any 'rules' is a grey area, and each case is different. I suspect Pardew would get away with this because Newcastle have made an official bid already, so their interest in Carroll is on record already.
As regards what Rodgers says about Carroll, its all in the interpretation. My reading of it is that he is covering his bases in case Carroll isn't sold. He doesn't want to openly say he doesn't want him, and blow his confidence away, so he is saying, yes he's a good guy and a decent player, and if he is still here next season, I will make some use of him. That doesn't mean he will play every game or be the focus of the team or any such thing, it doesn't even mean he's 'part of his plans' for the future of the team, it just means he's trying to keep him sweet so if he is still there he can get some use out of him when he needs to. It's all pretty non-committal and still sounds to me like he'd prefer to get rid.
Anyone know where I can get any decent screensavers (Not wallpapers) from? These don't seem to work. http://liverpoolfc.pages3d.net
