She didn't say anything un-toward. She simply raises the question about a nation who have previous for drug taking.

I didn't see it live, so I can't tell you how it sounded, but certainly as it's read I think there is nothing wrong.

It's just typical of today's society. Somebody says something slightly controversial and everyone get's there soap box out and voices an opinion on a lousy format like twitter.
This country is already becoming watered down and if a pundit can't put forward an innocent question like that without people getting upset then it won't be long until we all have CCTV in our houses and we are just a nation of docile robots.

It's a sad fact of life that drug cheats are far too commonplace in sport nowadays so I suppose it's only natural that the question is asked when something like this happens. Yes, it's unfortunate if it turns out that she is a prodigious young talent who is tarred by the same brush, and we naturally feel uncomfortable about making any such comment about a 16-year-old who is legally still a child and therefore far too young and innocent to be involved is anything so awful.

All medal winners will be automatically tested at these games so if there is anything untoward hopefully it will be spotted.

Mind you, they'll have to be on the alert to make sure that nobody copies Rosie Ruiz, who “won” the 1980 Boston Marathon in a then record time of 2:31:56, but it was later discovered that she had simply registered for the race and then jumped out of the crowd close to the finish line!!

when a 16 year old girl goes faster than the one of the greatest male swimmers ever at the same point of a race then yes questions need to be asked! iv heard kelly holmes saying that if any medalists are on drugs then they will be find out at these games cos the testing is so good! saying that if you look at some athletics records in the 80's especially the womens 400 and 800 metres, those records are still going today and every1 knows in the sporting world there was alot of controversy then with the east german athletes but those records still stand! maybe these nations hav found a way to take something and remain undetected to testing, who knows!

just been announced on sky sports news that one of her team mates tested positive for EPO just 6 weeks ago! im guessing that shes the 1 that was mentioned in the article! probably more to come!

I don't understand how some athletes, who take drugs to win medals, can feel a sense of achievement?

Over the years, hearing some athletes using drugs reminds me of comedian Tommy Tiernan's joke that there should be a drug's Olympics, were some athletes have the chance to represent the pharmaceutical companies

Good news for people, I'm hearing there are thousands of tickets being put up for sale to fill some of the empty seats. I wonder if they will sell the tickets at half the price?
