MMA training was bloomin' tiring, tonight. Instructor beasted us with what he laughingly refers to as a warm up. Then high power kick padwork, then submission grappling. There was a scary moment I almost swollowed my gum shield, while I was caught in a gillutine, lol.

Then, drenched in sweat, I jogged a mile to my flat - currently still drenched :-S

I didn't realise I put it in there, I normally just click into sport fly down a section to this thread, I didn't see the Olympics thread.

I was watching Chelsea Lately on E! last night & they were talking about pole dancing making it into the 2016 games, it's got more chance than MMA!!!

MMA with head gear & a vest just sounds strange. It'd be intreasting to see how they'd go about it, Grand Prix style, Pride I mean not F1.
Would they go 3 5min rounds or 3 3min rounds & change some of the rules i.e no full mount both front & back (I think this should be banned anyway), no elbows? although these would be hard to score with due to the head guard.

One last question, why is Shogun fighting Brandon Vera who's got 1 win in his last 4 fights???

Lyimpics would be what you hear if you heard quite a few of us northerners talk about the oylimpics

If it did make I'd presume they'd be the same kinda rules they use for the youngsters fights ie no head shots etc

Would be a watered down version of what we see in the UFC i reckon. Head guards, heavier gloves, maybe 3 minute rounds instead of 5 minute rounds, no knees, elbows... Could be ok, without the blood and no Arianny!

Vera's being sent in as a tune up for Shogun! Word is he'll fight for the belt again next if he wins and Machida beats Bader on saturday. Bader gets the shot if he wins though, don't get that. Surely Alex Gustafsson should be next for a title fight in that division...
