We can now look forward to starting our League 1 campaign with a local derby against Bournemouth a week tomorrow. We have enough trialists training with the club to get a team together.

he has gone. the council have loaned £1.45m to the supporters trust for the buyout bid. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19183904 if pompey are not careful they could end up in the blue squire premier. pompey should only sign players that use the pfa has their representatives has they only take smaller fee or none at all rather than the scumming sucking pond life that is the football agent.

So some of the First round League Cup games were played today...

Bury 1-2 Middlesbrough

Carlisle 1-0 Accrington

Cheltenham 1-1 MK Dons
Milton Keynes Dons win 5-3 on penalties

Crewe 5-0 Hartlepool

Doncaster 1-1 York
Doncaster win 4-2 on penalties

Hull 1-1 Rotherham
Hull win 7-6 on penalties

Leeds United 4-0 Shrewsbury

Notts County 0-1 Bradford
After Extra Time

Rochdale 3-4 Barnsley
After Extra Time

Sheff Utd 2-2 Burton Albion
Burton Albion win 5-4 on penalties

Walsall 1-0 Brentford

Watford 1-0 Wycombe
After Extra Time

Wolves 1-1 Aldershot
Wolverhampton win 7-6 on penalties

So proud of Aldershot today. They had to shuffle the pack a couple of times due to injuries (including within the first 5/10 minutes) and more then held their own against a very strong Wolves side.
Wolves fans didn't turn up which was a bit of a let down, but they probably took the typical attitude that "it's only Aldershot, in the League Cup" . Good job we didn't all have that attitude for a 300+ mile trip otherwise your crowd would be empty!!

Anyway, if they can play like that all season then I reckon we'll go up. Solid at the back and our 'keeper was world class today. Penalties was a tough way to go out, but there was 12 class pens that would of be hard for any 'keeper to get to, sadly the 13th belonged to us and we went out Sad

Standing ovation and well deserved applause for the heroes in white.

Gazfc, if you're reading this, Sonny Bradley had a class game again today and he'll be a centre half at international level for sure (given half a chance) he bitched, bullied and kept Kevin Doyle in his pocket for 90 minutes. Solid as a rock!

Good to hear, I was surprised we let him go back on loan, honestly thought he'd get a good couple of months worth of games till Hobbs comes back, guess Bruce would rather give his son the chance

Took great pleasure in knocking that gaping cunt Evans out the cup Big Grin

That just about made up for the penalty loss to see Rotterscum go out the cup! I bet Evan's blew his fucking lid on the side lines, he is well overdue a heart attack that piece of shit.

Yeah I was well surprised too. Everyone was chuffed to bits when he come back, and amazed it was for a season long loan. I guess he will be recalled if the shit hits the fan. He is superb and to be fair, above League 2. He stands out and it can only be a compliment when the home team is boo'ing you after 10 minutes because you've torn their best striker a new arse hole and made it clear that he ain't even getting a sniff.

RE: Football League: Discussion
Over the weekend I heard Blackburn's global advisor Shebby Singh say that if Kean loses 3 games in a row then he is gone.

Now I know Kean isn't that good of a manager, but its a bad way to go about things. Kean was given a new contract last season and he has brought in his own players to fit his style of play. Just imagine if Blackburn are top of the Championship and are 15 points clear by Christmas, they lose their next 3 games and are still 6 points clear of second place, but Kean loses his job. Blackburn then have to look for a new manager, who has to work with players, who he may not want or don't suit his style of play. Yes Blackburn could buy and sell in January, but its a difficult window to buy players and plus Blackburn are not flush with cash.

There were a lot of fans there when Singh made those remarks, so maybe he was doing a bit of arse licking. Because a lot of Blackburn fans were very unhappy at the end of last season at the direction the club was going, so maybe the owners were concerned fans may not turn up for games and try and convince some disgruntled to continue to support Blackburn during home games

Today Shebby Singh has apologised for his comments about Kean, which has probably pissed off fans again. Its clear global advisor Singh needs an advisor before he makes comments at a press conference. Its also clear that Venky's still don't know what they are doing or how to run a football club

mr singh at blackburn said on saturday that if blackburn lose 3 games in a row that steve kean will be sacked and called mgp a pensioner. now he has issued an apology to mgp and kean.

kean should have been sacked last christmas but the saying a dog is life not just for christmas. they thougt it might be cruel to put him down over the crimbo period.

We've just played our first game of the season in the Whatever It's Called Now League Cup, away to Exeter, and after gifting them a goal in 2 minutes, came back to win 2-1. And Brighton got stuffed 3-0 at Swindon. Is it wrong of me to be as happy about the Tesco boys losing as I am about my own lot winning? Big Grin
