Frankie Edgar's always gonna be the same, some what of a nearly man. Yeah he beat BJ but BJ was on his way out, 2 year earlier & BJ would steam straight at Edgar as his style suits BJ, BJ didn't look too bothered in those fights.

Edgar's record is KO/TKO 3-0 subs 3-0 decisions 8-3, he's elusive & energetic but not much of a finisher. So against more technically skilled fighters at the top end he'll lose more decisions than he wins. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the same as Martin Kampmann, a fighter who's used to test the pedigree of the up & coming fighters.

Disagree with you there mate. He should have the belt around his waist today. He's still the number fighter in the division for me. Warrior.

Most of his fights will be down to the judges at this level Both Henderson, BJ & Maynard fights went the distance. Like I said he's energetic & elusive, the other 3 finish fights & that reputation will play on some judges, as much as it shouldn't the fact is we'll never know what they truly think.

Frankie finished Maynard and clearly beat BJ in the rematches. I think he's probably the best fighter at lightweight but he's very small and lacks power. it was a close fight so can't scream robbery but i was giving it to Edgar, unlucky i guess not sure where he goes from here, maybe drops a weight class.

Cerrone-guillard was nuts, sheilds-herman was dull, Holloway has real talent.

He's got it in his locker to finish people off.

Yup my mistake chaps he finished Maynard but still I don't see him finishing many fights against top fighters, the title strategies are too thought out so I feel it'd be down to fatigue or possibly a mistake more then a big Edgar shot. Is he capable yes every fighter is but I don't see his get out of jail card as KO power Cerrone style.

He's a good fighter but a good 3-5 round distance fighter.

Participants notice: I've been asked what we're playing to so I've decided that we can either play to every 50 UFC events which would mean the current predictions would end now with me taking the title or we can play first to 100 predictions.
We started at UFC 142, 21 events ago but 1 or 2 have been missed due to lack of decent cards. Going on the fact I've reached 76 predictions in less than 21 events my vote is for 1st to 100 predictions. Lets me know your thoughts by August 31st.

First to 100 for me Mitchell. Not having this first to 50 you've already won the title nonsense! I thought it was yearly, was just planning my autumn/winter swoop for the gold!

I'm fine either way but right now I'm leaning towards 100.

UFC on FOX 5 on the 8th of December gets Benson Henderson vs. Nate Diaz for the UFC Lightweight Championship, Alexander Gustafsson vs. Mauricio Rua and BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald. Great card.

The race to 100 predictions is on then!!!

I only said every 50 as we're at 150 now so we could start again on September 1st but 50 would take ages.

Henderson v Diaz & The return of BJ are quality fights, I reckon the winner of BJ v MacDonald gets to fight for the belt, not sure about title fights between now & then.
