Well it looks like Carroll is heading on loan to West Ham.

Not really happy about it tbh but hopefully it turns out to be the best outcome for him and Liverpool.

I know players come and go,but the handling of the whole Carroll affair was/is atrocious.
Not fair on the big lad at all and if he does go (likely) I hope he does well.

Good to see Morgan starting as for Carroll i'd of kept him and played a 4-2-1-2-1 with him up front and Suarez and Borini or Sterling behind him with Gerrard just behind them.

I know everyones saying how much they like Carroll but come on be honest he hasn't done enough to get a regular place in the team & doesn't have the skill set to make a name for himself in the new setup. It's a close/short passing game with a lot of build up, you can expect us to get a lot of 1-0 wins if/when we do win if not a dominating performance where Utd, Chelsea even Newcastle would win 5-0 but we'll still only score 2.
We're probably not gonna have many shots on goal with this style so he'll just find himself shuffling between the 2 centre halfs & being over looked. It was the same with Crouch, he could only play one way & never showed any desire to inprove his alround forward play, it looks the same with Carroll, he always looks to run to the far post which means his only option is to get on the end of a pin point cross & out jump 2 defenders to get a power header on target & away from the keeper... 8 out of 10 times for different reasons this won't happen!

Like whats been said, why would you want a £35m £60,000+ a week 3rd choice striker on your bench starting no more than 10 games a season. Sell him for £12m-£17m (If someone's foolish enough to pay the latter) & buy 2 players who'll fit the system.

As for people saying Carroll has been treated badly, if you mean by Rodgers then you can't blame Rodgers for wanting to take the club forward with everyone on the same page, look at Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, he came in & set about putting a style in place from top to bottom, even the young players they brought into the academy had to be of a certain standard & able to fit into the new style of play the club had. Fergie post Mourinho changed to 4-3-3 & stopped buying old school wingers & now buys players to fit the system they now play.

It takes time for people to get used to change so you can't throw some sort of shit at the manager this early, no one was complaining at around 17:50 on Sunday evening!

One things for sure watching the game tonight we need some pace in the side besides Sterling.

Respectfully Mitchell,the treatment of Carroll was poor,this is the only issue I've had with Rodgers,to publicly not show Andy support was wrong.
Behind closed doors he should have let Andy know not so publicly,anyway onwards and upwards,got the result we needed even tho we made it more difficult than it needed to be but well played to Hearts.

Hope this can happen.

Gutted big Andy's away. Great centre forward who wanted to fight for his place and score goals for us. A Centre half's nightmare. I'll never forget his winner against the bitters at Wembley.

Hope he bangs the goals in for West Ham. I know he will.
