The whole context thing is a smokescreen that allows those in power to have sexual content while banning others. Shakespear never had nudity in his plays, or even women, yet some modern productions do. Thry claim artistic context, but it is not authentic, was not what the author intended and is therefore redundant. Likewise orgy scenes in Wagners Ring cycle.

The other view is that whatever the intention, a horny 15 year old will find a 10 second nude segment a turn on, however genuine the intention. It might be a school sex education film or medical health show or a dramatic scene emphasising two peoples deep and abiding committment to each other, but the 15 year old will just get the horn and jerk off to it later.

The unwritten rule seems to be that a sex scene is acceptable if it is too short to jerk off too, or lacks close ups, but younger audiences are quite capable of remembering it later (and imagining more detail).

Ironically when I was 15 eccles our media studies teacher whilst demonstrating the type of different media outputs, put on a porno in our classroom, that gave me the horn, I was rather slow in getting up off my seat at the end of the lesson, don't know why

On the subject of erections - in recent times on the Playboy / Adult Channel and TVX channels erections can be seen all over the place. Quite often you can even see them being wanked by the female performer. And it's not just a fleeting glimpse either - in the newer content it's clearly deliberately included for a fair length of time.

I have no idea whether the rules have changed, or the interpretation used by the channels has changed, or what, but it never used to be allowed and now it seems to be.

Conversely, a few years ago a lot of the channels used to show explicit shots of pussys being licked. It never appears in any new shows, and yet when the old shows are repeated then it is still shown (I'm particularly thinking Playboy Lesbian and GirlGirl channels). Surely either it's OK, in which case new shows should show it, or it isn't OK, in which case NO show should have it. But we are stuck in this half way house.

I have come to believe that there are actually NO hard and fast rules other than no penetration. The rest seems to be a combination of make-it-up-on-the-spot, what-we-can-get-away-with and who-is-running-the-fines-today!

Somewhere in Ofcom there is a Harriet Harman wannabee who sees the 900 channels as disgusting. Last night's shows were pathetically tame so it is obviously the producers who are running scared of Ofcom as many of the models do hardcore, open leg or at least tasteful nude.
Now if they all got together and said "right lads, 11pm Friday 12th Oct, best models out and all bollock naked, across every channel and screw Ofcom, they can't sanction all of us"....

what i dont get is why they get a fine for a split second flash of flesh, its not as if the model stands there for hours on end with her pussy in full view,
