But bribery is bribery, and whatever you think of Ofcom's operation let's not pretend this is anything else. If Ofcom were to accept any form of 'deal' the babe channels would pretty much have them over a barrel because as soon as Ofcom accept the first payment, the babe channels could then dob then in to the authorities and have them investigated for accepting bribery.

The day this happens, Beelzebub will be going to work on a ski-doo.

The channels are not interested in challenging Ofcom and nor are they interested in doing anything criminal with Ofcom. That's all you need to know.

Surprised nobody has organized a proper 48hr boycott for Friday/Saturday night of these channels. They would be deprived of £500,000 across all channels per day if nobody phoned.

Interesting joke, and please noone suggest that officials are paid in kind with POV cameo roles, some are short fat and hairy.

Seriously though some of the channels will not lift a finger and would not walk through an open door if they saw one. They have websites selling paid for hardcore content as well as running online hardcore film services, operate sex shops, produce and sell R18 DVDs. Up to a few years ago some also ran regular pole dancing nights.

What they dont realise is that they are sitting ducks for foreign competition and will crash and burn when that happens. The free UK channels will go bust as soon as PIN protected Euro strength channels muscle into the Sky slot and they wont be able to compete. All manner of hardcore business will go under when PPV hardcore becomes available.

Are you talking about FTV PIN protected channels or PPV?

I'd like to see the day we get FTV PIN protected channels, but what evidence do you have to suggest this is even going to happen, eccles?

FTV PIN Stan. The obstacle to this is Ofcom because the wont accept that a PIN provides any protection unless it is backed by proof of age, for example payment on a credit card (only available from 18). European regulators wont be as fussy.

There is no evidence for two reasons. I was pointing out that UK Babe channels are sitting ducks, there are 26 other EU nations out there that can licence broadcasters. Second when it happens it will come out of the blue.

RE: Is It Time For The Channels To Make A Deal With Ofcom
Well they say "every man has it's price" however I can't see Ofcom accepting back handers from the babe channels. However lets be clear every government on this planet is corrupt to the core in one form or another, and it's been said that bribery goes on all the time without us knowing about it!!
Now I'm assuming the channels are making a profit? But how much is anyone's guess! I agree that the channels must be making money on this lame shit we're seeing every night, I still believe in my humble opinion the producers would love to go back to how things used to be, however in this current oppressed times we're living in this ain't gonna happen!
Look paying Ofcom a few quid here and there sounds like a plan, however one leaked story from somewhere could blow up in there faces. We no there's hardcore porn people can access on smartphones tablets pc's you name there's porn on it, so to get easy access to explicit material is easier than ever before, so maybe the channels themselves think as someone has said previously why bother risking to show more on tv and risk getting thrown off air or fined, they think there's the Internet so basically fill your boots, if you want the harder stuff. I would like to see our channels with the strict rules they are working under lifted so at least we could see some more interaction, and maybe a bit of pussy to boot, the only problem is that while Ed Richards is sitting in his London office on the Thames enjoying the view, this will not happen I'm afraid to say!!
