We're over the 100,000 lad. Hopefully it gets pushed through now and like Dominic Grieve said the other day, lets hope he does do everything in his power to get things brought forward sharpish.

Well I've just signed it too. We all want justice for the 96 and like many others I'd love for this lady to see it delivered before her passing.

Justice for and R.I.P. the 96.

Shocked he's gone there to tell the truth mate. Some of the wars we had with them when Rafa was in charge... I don't think it's a good appointment, Benitez is one stubborn lad. He'll ruffle a few feathers for me. Don't the russian want stylish football? It'll be solid back four, no nonsense, counter attacking, no subs til the 70th minute football. Win, lose or draw.

It's gonna take more than Rafa to get Torres scoring. The secret to that lad banging goals in left, right and centre.... Steven Gerrard in his prime loading the bullets.

Benitez was dropping hints about the Chelsea job before they gave it to Di Matteo, was he not? Beneath all the bling, they're a decent club. As an old fart I can remember when they were a real peoples' club, and usually the neutrals favoured team whenever they were involved in an important match. Since the money started to flow in, they've had some really decent (in both senses of the word) players turn out for them: Di Matteo himself, Zola, Vialli, Desailly, Sparky Hughes, Deschamps, Brian Laudrup, Gullit, Petrescu. I hope Benitez does very well and makes it very difficult for Abramovich to get rid of him at the end of the season (be funny in any case if Man City got rid of Mancini and ended up snaffling Guardiola!)

Čech

César Azpilicueta John Terry Gary Cahill Ashley Cole

Ramires/Frank Lampard Mikel

Victor Moses Juan Mata Eden Hazard

Fernando Torres

I can see this being Rafa's team with maybe Mata right & Oscar centre. Mata has some of the Gerrard qualities playing just off Torres & Lampard would play a similar role to Xabi Alonso.

It's a shrude piece of business by Rafa, he knows Abramovic wants Pep Guardiola just like City do, Rafa will do well at Chelsea maybe even win the league, he knows he's putting himself in the frame for whichever job Pep doesn't get.

A player wins 3 trophies in a season he's happy, a player wins 3 trophies in a season but doesn't get a pat on the back from his manager.... He's still happy.

I'm sure all fans are the same but to see a club legend (2005) manage a team like Chelsea who at this stage are ahead of us is a bit shitty, but I'm glad he's back in a job as I think he's a good manager.

One post in the Chelsea thread is plenty for me!

Stevie dragged us through the 04/05 European cup run Mitchell. Absolutely dragged us through. He did the same in the FA cup final the following season. If it wasn't for him we'd have won nothing under Benitez.

I'll build you a picture of Benitez's character. The quotes are from Gerrard's autobiography.

Stevie described Rafa as "a little detached" and said he "had to make things work" with him to keep us moving forward. Gerrard also said that, although it didn't bother him, after the FA cup final in 06 Rafa told the press in the stadium that "we wouldn't have lost without him, we've played lots of games without him". What cup final was he at that day!? Rolleyes

Gerrard said if he scored a hat trick and did 98 good things in a game and 2 bad things, Rafa would pull him and talk for ten minutes about the 2 bad things, with no mention of the hat trick or 98 good things. He was "Gobsmacked" and thought Benitez had something against him at first.

Gerrard admits that he needs "That little bit of love" and "reassurance during a bad patch". That's the best player in the history of Liverpool saying that. Most players feel the same.

He finished by saying it was his ambition to get a well done from Benitez before he retired and if he ever did he'd need a long lie down and some treatment! Big Laugh

Rafa's a good tactician but his man management is non existent and he's done the dirty by joining Chelsea. Wish him all the best in his private life but not on the pitch with Chelsea.

I know he's gone to Chelsea but felt a bit sorry for Rafa earlier. Still can't believe he took the job down there.bladewave
