You're still missing the point, why
should they charge less? They aren't doing this as a charitable service, it is a business transaction and they will charge what they can get whether it seems excessive to the likes of you and me or not. There's nothing new in that, many people do the same. Think of lawyers and the ludicrous sums they charge.
Bear in mind as well that many of these girls work through an agency, and the agency takes a cut. It is in the agencies interests to charge as much as possible so they get a fatter fee. They would soon get rid if the girl said, nah that sounds too much I think I'll work at 100 bucks a pop.
Some guys out there are buying these girls ipads and laptops off their wishlists, and all they get to do is chat to the girls on the phone (for which they also pay crazy amounts). Paying a similar amount and actually getting to shag the girl doesn't seem like such a bad deal
As someone else has also said, these girls have a limited career span, they aren't just earning money to pay the rent and food bills
today, they are also earning money to secure their future for when they are no longer able to make a living at this business, so they need to earn more than what you or I may consider a 'living wage'.
My final point is that many of these girls are not full-time prostitutes, they just do it occasionally between their other work commitments, they aren't pulling dozens of tricks a day.
Let's say a girl charges 600 bucks. The agency takes it's cut, I have no idea what, but lets' suppose around 100, that sounds not unreasonable. So, she gets 500 bucks. Lets say she is legit and declares her earnings, so she then has to deduct tax and NI, and whatever other travel/clothes/food expenses, so she's coming away with maybe 300 bucks. Possibly she is working from an agency flat, so she may have travelled to get there and have to travel home (or else she may be visiting the client at a hotel, similar thing), so an hours appointment is essentially a days work, for 300 bucks. That's not to be sniffed at, but not exactly great either. If she sees 2 or 3 guys that day so much the better, but if not, it's a fairly small reward for shagging a complete stranger!
Most of these girls will be pulling far more than that for a shift on the phone lines or a modelling session, so charging that for actually screwing somebody doesn't seem so unreasonable by comparison.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely that it is a lot of money, and more than I would be willing to pay (unless my lottery numbers come up sometime), but I don't think it's at all unreasonable for the girls to charge that sort of amount if there are punters willing to pay it. We live in a capitalist world and this is kinda how capitalism works.
