They made public his 'Reprimand/Bollicking,so short of terminating him (which they were never going to do) I guess I'm saying "Doing a little something (public reprimand) is better than a lot of nothing (IE:Nothing)

I heard Jon Champion talking about this on Talksport and it seems they reminded him that a lot of Liverpool supporters subscribe to ESPN, rather than actually reprimanding him. Apparently some Liverpool supporters had threatened to cancel their subscriptions, so ESPN felt they had to do something and that's why they put out that statement. Thankfully they only said they "had spoken" to Champion and left it at that. If they had actually reprimanded him or had gone so far as to apologise it would have set an unfortunate precedent. If they had apologised for a piece of commentary they would have been inviting protests from one set of supporters or another every week and would have put themselves in a ridiculous position.

Shame about Nuri Sahin cos I had big expectations for him when he came to Liverpool, but he just never brought the performances we all expected

I see Liverpool fans already have their excuses made should they lose tomorrow.

Im sure fergies got his all ready too, bet he's giving howard webb his team talk now.
