Funny thing is the story goes he originally wanted Tottenham ,but was told they would never sell to him .Then he spotted Stamford Bridge from his helicopter .The rest is history .Seems to me he only bought Chelsea on a whim .

When Roman Abramovich first chose to buy into the Premier League he hired an investment bank, UBS Warburg, to research the market and write a feasibility study. They eventually recommended Man Utd, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Chelsea. The 3 big plusses about Chelsea were being in London, being in financial difficulties and already being in the Champions League. As for the others, it was felt that Man Utd was gettable but in Manchester and the deal would take a lot of time and would be very expensive; Aston Villa was already for sale but was in Birmingham and the long-term opportunities were felt to be limited; and Tottenham were in London and in financial difficulties at the time, but had no Champions League football then and seemed reluctant to agree to a meeting anyway.

No I don't know him but the same could be said with you. You assume a guy who's a billionaire, a smart guy is just going to throw a billion away just for the hell of it and walk away. You can clearly see he wants Chelsea to win.

Never read where the media ranks Rangers as Britains's 2nd biggest club. They're not even bigger then Celtic imo.

Rangers are no bigger than Arbroath these days and whats any of this got to do with hating fergie ?

Linked to the Glaziers isn't it ? When they go tits up ,so do Man Utd .
Plenty of time for it to happen while the Glaziers debts are hanging around Man Utd's neck .

You heard wrong. Chelsea were always in pole position because Mr Abramovich was interested in the Champions League above everything and Chelsea were already in it.
