I'm surprised they've waited this long. I think many companies would have deleted all the stuff on them by now. After all I think I'm right in saying that the hosting's not being paid for anymore.

Kim DotCom plans to launch his new site in two days, and users will get 50GB of storage for free, the infamous entrepreneur tweeted today.

DotCom also tweeted that his lawyers are working on giving former premium users their premium statuses on the new site but that the site "can't at this time."

50GB is a huge amount of free storage right off the bat. DotCom's tweet comes a day after another cloud storage service, MediaFire, announced it would be offering 50GB of free storage. Other storage services may offer as much -- or more -- for free, but those accounts come with requirements.

Have signed up for MEGA myself and I can already say that it is going to be a cracker, for some 50 GB isn't a lot but I'm sure that those serious about sharing will be willing to pay less than a tenner a month to get ten times the storage space.

Maybe some of our esteemed members shall be using this site in the near future?

Just been using Mega to download some of Don vids and it's great no waiting and you can download more than one vid at a time getting good download times as well

Well so long as it doesn't get shut down, run into funding problems or the owner gets jailed.

There's now a MEGA add-on for Firefox users which now enables you to download files with Firefox instead of just Chrome.
