RE: Ofcom Discussion
First off a warm welcome back to RCTV Wink Just where have you been hiding for the past almost 2 years Surprised I see you are still the same individual. Nonetheless very nice to have your opinion's (feminist) laugh back again gracing this forum.

Ok so I've been sort of following this latest ofcom bullshit. BTW - I am working the nightshift all this week so it won't be until Sunday when I'll be able to properly post again my views or my favourite babe caps.

So getting to the point. (I do apoligise for my ramblings here) Rolleyes

From what I can see nothing has really changed with regard to any of the ofcom rules. What does make me very uncomfortable is the fact that ofcom have stated that they intend to heavily monitor the channels output for the time being. This in turn could make for the shows dumbing down even more, making for a shit spectacle. This ofcourse is the worst possible scenario.

However going by from what I've read it looks more likely that it's the dayshows for the time being that are the primary targets. I will be holding my breath on this one and I pray that I'm not left with nightshows so tame that forces me into not capping my favourite models. I'll never cap a show if it doesn't interest me.

I think eccles post summed it up perfectly. Yeah also agree what an insult to dictate to the channels what outfits are appropriate or not. Hm..........I guess ofcom weren't watching the womens beach volleyball during the summer then when the olympic games were on. But well if it's on the BBC then it's alright then I suppose bladewave

Hypocritical bastards and completely out of touch. Also how is it even remotely possible to run a babe channel whether it be during the day or at night without some sort of sexual innuendo taking place. What exactly are ofcom expecting from these channels. Fully dressed models stitching cardigans like old grannies. Sure that's going to bring in the call's ofcom - Right bladewave

And lastly and sorry for this to sound like one of my cliches but as usual the channels have done fuck all to ever challenge ofcom and their bullshit, maybe it's high time they did. They don't need to go in all gun's blazing but maybe just point out to the bastards that they need to be consistent when it comes their so-called generally accepted standards.

So no Gym gear then, but the BBC shows athletics during the day. No beach costumes either. Still ok mind you for one of the mainstream channels to still air Baywatch during the day and for another to air Home And Away.

Ofcom have decided it's only offensive material if it's on a babe channel. I'd like to see them dictate to the rest of the channels on what is appropriate clothing to be shown pre - watershed but they never would. Why - Well because unlike the babe channels the likes of the BBC and Channel 4 would tell then to fuck off and mind their own business. Something the babe channels should have done a very very long time ago before the madness desended down to this level.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
Great post from SB, i agree with you the babe channel producers should have fought fire with fire, and stood up to Ofcom long ago, instead of cowering down to themannoyed I still think if the producers have the nerve to get together and stand up to these out of touch overpaid twats then i think you'll see ofcom start to shake, in otherwords give them a bit of there own medicineImportant
Once again it seems the only way to stick 2 fingers up to ofcom is having some sort of a foreign license, it seems thats one loophole that ofcom can't seem to challenge. Whether the other channels will follow suit is another matter. However the way the babe channels are suffering at the moment under the Ofcom dictatorship, i can't help but think that more and more will follow the babestation route.
I do think the producers need to push the limits as far as they dare, just keeping in the boundaries of ofcoms oppressive regimeImportant i do tend to think that certain babe channels are erring more on the side of caution, which though it's understandable, they'll find themselves getting fewer and fewer calls, eventually causing the channels to shut!!
To conclude, i think the babe channels either fight ofcom with all they've got, or pursue a foreign licence, though it's not much of a choice, the channels executives will have to choose which way they want to go, and they'll need to make there decision very soon!!

thanks. I did put a thread in the general forum, and my life has changed over 2 years or check fb.

A debate is always fun.

I think with ofcom and the babe channels that they will never get any stricter, the countries who's regulations are far stricter than the UK's, for example if you dig all the way through Spanish regulations, you'd be there YEARS, you'd see that apart from the national channels in Spain it is very hard to set one up, as most are broadcast locally and they put more rules on it. It is very strange considering the Spanish culture. Hopefully will change soon.

ofcom aren't objective at all for the babe channels, and have never really consulted the channels, have only sent stuff to them before it goes public, and will then generally ignore or just acknowledge then ignore what the channels say. Ofcom are ultimately out there to protect the general viewers with what they see, and that in itself is generally seen as families, which in itself is flawed and doesn't show what the general public want to see and what they complain about.

The channels themselves don't help with the constant bickering between them and complaints against their rivals, which I think, although not sure, make up a large amount of complaints, they should be dealt with a different way as a complaint from a member of the public, but aren't. Complaints from the channels should be dealt with as Internal Industry Complaints and shouldn't have as strict outcomes, which occur now, and things such as number of complaints from that channel against the channel it's complaining about and the number of complaints the channel complaining has.

Also think that a lot of the channels production techniques haven't really changed, and could be far better, and ofcom should also be looking at this and how the girls are treated, but they don't seem to be to bothered, as in the production industry pornographic production isn't the best, and the channels are the worst for this because of how they produce the shows and the way they treat the girls.

Ofcom will eventually go, but then be replaced by something else, as there needs to be something to exist to control tv and what can and cannot be shown, however ofcom at the moment aren't right and there'd need to be something big done for this to happen.

But you haven't done anything either. It's pointless waiting for the channels to fight your fights for you.

As RCTV says, the channels views carry more weight than mere viewers. They lose tangible amounts of money and jobs.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
First off I thought that was a very inteligent post put forward by RCTV. I had no idea that the Spanish regulators were far stricter than here in the UK. I think most of us certainly had other idea's.

In responce to admiral decker I think you'll find I've done my bit and continue to do my bit in the fight against ofcom. On this forum and behind the scenes too as I have e-mailed them various times. I just don't go shouting from the rooftops about it.

I also still do get enjoyment from the babe shows as you can see by my various caps. I just really fear for the future of them when ofcom make idle threats every now and again and I really think they ought to get more protection.

Continental I 100% agree with you on the foreign licence idea. Just don't get a fucking Spanish one Big Laugh in light of RCTV's post. Yes it's a complicated loophole to go down but it does sort of offer the likes of Babestation some breathing space.

I want them to not only remain but to prosper and to move forward into the manner in which they are more than capable of evolving into. When Bangbabes got closed down at the start of 2011 it left a massive void in the monopoly on the Adult Channel EPG.

In regard to Studio66 and rumours of them being party to an ofcom snitch then if this is the case then good that it was them that got fucked over and nobody else Important

SB the Spanish regulations aren't necessarily stricter, just more of a mine field, which describes Spanish law as a whole to be fair. A lot of channels went about 2-3 years ago because of the regulations.

When bangbabes went it was a shame, but had to be done because of sheer number of complaints, how many by rivals, don't know. I would of expected another company to of taken their place, but that hasn't happened.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
The thing is these channels don't wanna challenge ofcom, they like it the way it is and they would have considered action already if they really really wanted to go against ofcom, too scared too do anything.

I bet if these channels challenged minor things such as clothing they would stand a good chance of being heard or winning

Ofcom's claim that children are up at 2 in the morning, of course this could be challenged, where is the evidence for starters?

Dunno if that petition against ofcom is still going on but that means nothing in my view, that's the truth, it's not us that can make a difference, it's the channels

Lets hope the new operators who replace ofcom see female and male genitals are treated with the same respect.A women is born with her genitals between her legs and male the same yet ofcom and bbfc ban female genitals WITH NO REASON.Have emailed all 4 main channels and ofcom and bbfc with request for valid reason why they ban female genitals..I still have more ammunition left to question ofcoms pathelogical fear of female genitals which yet the reason why is being avoided by the sexist ****..

In the end Bangbabes/Tease Me TV left our screens because they went bust, this was probably because they couldn't pay the Ofcom fines, it's a fact that a rival channel made complaints and alerted Ofcom about Bangbabes, Ofcom have published details of this but haven't named the channel responsible . Bangbabes used to broadcast on 2 of their own Sky channels and a freeview channel using their own licence and also used to broadcast using Playboy's channels and licence on the other, when Ofcom revoked their licence Bangbabes continued broadcasting on the Playboy owned and licensed channel, so even after Ofcom revoked the licence of Bangbabes they continued broadcasting day and night shows until they went bust using Playboy's channels and licence . So in the end it was because they had no money to pay the fines that finally finished them .
It could be said that RLC/Playboy TV Chat replaced Bangbabes/Tease Me TV, when RLC first started up they where in some sort of partnership with Bangbabes, there was a on screen message on the RLC channel saying that the channel was in association with Tease Me TV, Bangbabes at times even used to broadcast a few shows from the RLC Bristol studios, when Banbabes went bust RLC then took over the Playboy channels that Bangbabes used to transmit on, RLC to this day still use some of the backing music played on the Bangbabes channels and many of the Bangbabes staff now work for RLC .
IMO Bangbabes has never really left our tv screens, it just metamorphosized into RLC .

Life is short . Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile .
