Brendan's the right man, said it from day one.

Exactly.
I said a few posts back he'd have learnt a lot this season. Mainly about who has the mentality the mind set to play for Liverpool and who doesnt. He knows he needs winners. Players that hate to lose at anything. You can see that in the signings he's made for me. Joe Allen and Fabio Borini have had pretty slow starts at Liverpool but the one thing you can see in the pair of them is determination and fire in the belly. The quality we seen from Allen at the start of the season will come back and hopefully Borini can start banging a few in. Daniel Sturridge is a great character I think. He's confident, believes in his ability and has that fire and spark about him. Same goes for young Coutinho. He's Brazillian. Probably has the heart of a lion the kid and the belief inside that he can become the best. That's a good sign in my book, shows Rodgers knows the type of characters were gonna need for the fight we've got on.
The thing that's cost us dearly this season is the countless lapses of concentration during games. It's all in the head. How many times have we been cruising in games the BANG! We concede a goal. BANG! We concede another. All the good work undone... I could sit here and write all night about it.
* City at Anfield, we were super. 2-1 up, lapse of concentration, goal, we draw 2-2.
* Utd at Anfield, bossing the game with 10 men, we go 1-0 up, we lose 2-1.
* Across the park, Suarez at the double, take that golum. Lapse from the keeper, goal, followed by a lapse from young Wisdom, we draw 2-2.
* Stamford Bridge, Agger gets caught sleeping at a corner, loses Terry, goal. Cost us 3 points. We drew 1-1.
* United away, more lapses in concentration leaving us staring up a mountain we very nearly climbed.
* Emirates, 2-0 up with 20 mins left, we draw 2-2.
* City away more silly lapses in concentration when we had dominated the full game. We draw 2-2.
Add up the points we threw away from those matches. We should've took 11 more points from those games than what we actually did. Add to that the games we didn't win because of poor finishing... Stoke at Home, Newcastle Home, Swansea Away, West Brom the other day... We should've taken 9 more points from those games than we actually took. I make that 20 points more we could have had this season if were switched on a bit more and were more clinical in 3 or 4 games.
Add 20 points to our total just now and we'd sit second. 9 points off the pace with 12 games left.
Any fan of any team could do what I've just done and say they could be much higher up the table but I'm just trying to make the point that with 3 or 4 more additions of the right type of player, with the proper mentality and say a year down the line with young lads like Sterling, Coutinho, Henderson, Allen, Kelly, Wisdom, Shelvey and Suso all having developed a bit more and learned the game and their roles a bit more....
We might not be too far away.
