Not quite the same. Suarez was fined because he racially abused Evra. Inter Milan didn't racially abuse anyone. They have been fined due to the moronic attitude of a section of their fans. There could be an argument that asks should a club be responsible for the actions of others. Would it not be fairer to round up the morons responsible and ban them for life from ever attending football games anywhere again.
Perhaps its time as Suarez himself has said to move on. A 10 match ban is fair for what he did. A precedent has now been set though. The FA must act with equal harshness whenever anyone crosses the line on acceptable behaviour, whatever the transgression.
agree 100 percent that now the precedent has been set and something similar does happen again then the f.a. must act in the same way.

RE: Football Banter
Firstly there was never any proof that suarez racially abused evra, it was one word against another, and the word suarez apparently used "negro" in south america is used all the time the same way the English use the word "mate" it was just a difference in culture if anything and still without any real proof what actually happened suarez is given an 8 game ban.

A few weeks later John Terry, an englishman with no excuses about confusions in culture is caught on camera in front of millions calling ferdinand a "f*cking bl**k cu*t" only recieves 4 game ban. Surely if the precedent had been set then Terry should have had 8 games too?

The FA needs to have a very good look at themselves and Clearly state the rules so everybody knows what's what instead of 1 rule for one.

Come on now suarez is 26 years of age, he should have known better and his history certainly doesn't help him now does it e.g- similar occurrence in holland. The guy is a special player but you can't defend what he has done in the past, as for racially abusing evra that couldn't have been more obvious

If wilshere, Walcott or any other arsenal player had done the same I ain't gonna look for ways to defend them and the punishment they get , Suarez chose to bite for reasons only he knows so all he could do now is take the punishment and move on.

You can't start bringing in other players like terry because that's looking for cheap ways to defend Suarez, in court he was found not guilty but the fa still pursued him and he got 4 games, why does he need longer? The man had to go through court and all that.

Obviously not, as the judgements in those cases clearly explained. It was stated in the Evra-Suarez judgement that the offence warranted a 4 match ban, but because Suarez repeated the offence and racially insulted Evra a total of 7 times the ban was doubled to 8 matches. The finding in the Ferdinand-Terry case was that only a single offence was committed, so the standard 4 match ban was applicable.

The culture excuse in the Suarez case was rejected because Suarez had not just come from South America, but had played in Europe for some time. It was held that he knew full well what was insulting in Europe and what wasn't and that the racial insults to Evra were deliberate.

who says suarez "racially abused" Evra 7 times?... oh wait wasn't that Evra himself? How the FA can Brand somebody a Racist to the media is disgusting, especially without any evidence.

Terry on the other hand is on fucking video clear as day in English calling somebody a "bl**k c*nt" and gets lesser punishment.

Your countries FA and media are a joke i'm sorry.

No whats obvious is Terry is on video calling somebody a "fucking blk cnt" and he got lesser punishment because he's English and the face of the England footbal team..

Yes your right of which he was then ordered to go to court, found not guilty but then was still banned for 4 games, what more can be given to him?

Remember Suarez didn't even go to court

RE: Football Banter
sorry about if i was getting angry then but that alwayswanking person was really winding me up, maybe we can all have talks like adults now, as for suarez I have sympathy for him because when i first moved here I had the same issue as him where as I would say things sometimes and then get into trouble and learn they are not acceptable.

The guy clearly does have some issues with his behavior on the pitch and I can't defend him for biting offences twice, but what I can say is that he and other players who are part of the premier league should be offered more help and support by the FA if they have certain mental or behavior issues instead of waiting for things to happen then just punish them.

Suarez off the pitch is never in the news or anything for trouble outside of football and is a decent family guy, so when the media are branding him racist and a cannibal and other things it just annoys me because the FA should be supporting all their players in the league regardless of nationality and personalities, especially when they are as talented as luis suarez.
