Cole has been a great left back throughout his career and fully deserves to be playing this match. Baines is a good player too, though on this occasion Cole should have the honour. Not sure why anyone who supports England would begrudge the guy his game.

I hope so, then Porto will not loose Vitor Pereirra

Monaco have already signed moutinho, rodriguez, and Carvalho, Falcao is on his way too, they are now pushing to sign Hulk, and strongly linked with Tevez and Dani Alves, also Victor Valdes looks like he could be going there too. These players should all be in the premier league, not ligue 1!

I think it is ridiculous, considering that Financial Fairplay exist i dont see how having only 5000 fans at a game they will be able to stick within the rules, i hope uefa go hard on them and stick to it and ban them from europe.

It will take them years to break even with the prices they are paying and the wages.

Am starting to think that Real Madrid buy players for the sake of it especially attacking players when the problem with them and Barcelona is there defence, both a great football clubs and always there or there abouts in the champions league but when ever they go up against teams that have a really good defence they can't do anything and because they have so much attacking power they both can tear sides apart. Real Madrid were all over Tottenham wanting Modric and got him for over 27 million pounds plus and look whats happened to him he hardly plays and he ain't been that good and there rumours of him going to Chelsea. Now they want Bale now don't get me wrong if goes there because he wants champions league etc etc then fair enough but how long before they get bored of him and then get rid of him?. Both clubs in my view need to spend money on there defence.

Real Madrid are idiots if they let Modric go. He's their best midfielder in my opinion.

Ronaldo probably wont be there long term either, Bale should be very wary of going there.

Except for the size of the crowd what is the difference between them and teams owned by other rich playboys who's latest fad is to own a football club. Chelsea, Man City, Anzhi among others spring to mind. The trouble is the bigger the outlay from a rich owner, the higher the expectation. These clubs seem to go through one or two managers and coaches every season and because of that never have real stability.
Having said that Monaco could see a major increase in crowd attendance if they buy such a team. Nice is on the doorstep and with the TGV, other major cities are relatively close to hand. No different from fans of United or Liverpool travelling up from London.
