RE: Football Banter
Cant really call Abramovich owning Chelsea 'a fad' he's been there a while but they do go through a lot of managers though. City's owners spend money on the community and build soccer schools in deprived areas and are now building a youth complex which covers two postcodes to house and educate youth players for the future. Also increasing the capacity at the stadium as well. They're investing in the right areas to try and increase revenue and turn a profit in the future, at least. They're treating it like a business.

That's what Monaco need to try and do but with FFP (if it's actually implemented) they wont have time to get to that level before they are banned. It will be difficult for them to get around it without a loophole. Their ground only holds 18,000 and that's nowhere near enough for even a foundation of income for the outlay they are having right now.

Real Madrid were all over Tottenham wanting Modric and got him for over 27 million pounds plus and look whats happened to him he hardly plays and he ain't been that good and there rumours of him going to Chelsea. Now they want Bale now don't get me wrong if goes there because he wants champions league etc etc then fair enough but how long before they get bored of him and then get rid of him?. Both clubs in my view need to spend money on there defence.

Mourinho took modric to madrid to use him as an impact substitute to change games when ozil os taken off, modric himself pushed for the transfer more than anything. As for him not playing well, i disagree he comes on and does a job, it was him changing the game that took united out of the champions league.

The reason he is being linked with chelsea is because of the mourinho links.

Also Falcao has a clause in his contract which says that if Real Madrid match the fee Monaco are paying for him in the future then he can go to Madrid - no questions asked.

Which roughly translates to Falcao is going to Madrid in either January or next summer. So at least Monaco will get their £50m back then, that will help their finances a little. Its basically a loan, the more you think about it.

Looks like we are going to see the real spurs next season without bale, sounds as if he's asked his agent to push him for a move from the latest interview by his agent. Sounded like he was doing his best for a "come get me" to real madrid.

Was just about to say that mate. They'll come from all over to see that team play.

I'm pretty sure the Stade Louis II only holds about 19,000, it'll take a good 2 to 3 years form a new stadium to get built.

Just like Rooney I doubt Bale will go abroad.

Joe Hart subbed for itchy scalp? Wink

Seriously though, how do Gareth Southgate say Ireland were no real test for England when you fail to beat them and they play just as good as you?

Whether Bale stays or goes like any other club that loses a player will move on.

Mourinho vs Guardiola in the Super Cup now as well don't forget! Bayern vs Chelsea. Should be interesting - Mourinho might poke somebody in the eye again.

Let the headlines begin!
