Silva acts like that in every fight, he tries to get into his opponents head, tries to lure you in and then he'll strike... Bang!! Lights out, good night. Most people freeze in front of Anderson, they're scared of what he could do to them, overawed by him, star struck even.
Not Chris Weidman.
He said in the post fight presser, when Silva carried on his antics in round 2, he said "I'm going for it". He took the step that 17 men before him couldn't, put the thought of what Silva could do to him out his mind and knocked him out. I thought it was brilliant.
Weidman said all along the only thing that could beat him when he fought Anderson Silva was himself. The lad was right.
Breath of fresh air.

Any fighter with a half decent punch who threw it at the moment Weidman did would've had the same result. Silva put himself in a position where it was all but impossible to adjust his feet in time, the puch would only have needed to be 60-70% due to Silva's stance.
Come on that's just talk & not factual, it's there for the victory speech at moments like this.
Chris Weidman wins & jumps 3rd to 1st yest Frankie Edgar wins & drops a place.

Great fights TDK.
Cub Swanson's looked sharp as a tack recently, love his fight style.

The point is though that Anderson Silva does those same movements in front of every fighter he faces and won 17 fights in a row doing it. Every man he faced in those 17 fights had a decent punch and he beat them all. Knocking out or submitting 15 of the 17.
Chris Weidman left him seeing stars on the octagon floor. For me, he deserves more than people saying anyone could have done it.
Weidman earlier.
"I'm not here to change other people's opinions but I'll tell you one thing: he did not give me the belt. He did not throw the fight. It was nothing like that. He was doing exactly what he does in all his fights. He had his hands down, he was trying to mentally defeat me, make me freeze, make me feel like I didn't deserve to be in the ring with him. I didn't want to let him do that. I wanted to put him in his place, and that's it."
The best thing for Weidman is to have the rematch and ko Silva again or beat him in a dominant fashion. I've seen people call him the Buster Douglas of the UFC today, which is crazy. The lad's a machine.

RE: UFC
Read earlier Chael Sonnen's UFC contract has expired, he went to Dana White with this list of demands before he signs a new one. Funny stuff!
"It says, 'Dana, my manager said you guys talked and are getting a contract together for me,'" Sonnen explained. "'I think you should be aware of my demands. First, Jello Biafra replaces Bruce Buffer as ring announcer. Secondly, every fight I'm in must be a No. 1 contender fight or a title match. If I lose, I get an immediate rematch until I win. No media can look me in the eye, or they will be removed from the room.
"'No. 5: Headset legalized through the commission so I can call my own fights. No. 6: No longer will I walk to the ring. I need to be carried. No. 7: Keys to your least favorite Ferrari – I'm not asking too much. No. 8: I can Skype or FaceTime my fights if I feel like flying. No. 9 – and it's non-negotiable: tell 'GSP' to stop being such a dick. I'll return his truck when I'm done with it.'
"See, I'm not all about money, people. There's more to these contracts. They're very sophisticated."
