This anti-English thing that Murray is frequently slandered with is total bullshit, emanating from an off the cuff remark he made years ago about not supporting the English football team. The usual culprits got hold of it and haven't let it go since.

Because i was idly browesing the view post page and the thread kept popping up so i clicked it and had a butchers. It merely cross my mind when reading that I had heard he was some form of anglophobe so I just asked.

I didn't really think much about it as soon as I posted, certainly wasn't there for a 'pointless argument' (why on Earth would I want an argument over this?); if it (the post) wasn't responded to I would have forgot all about it, I'm sort of responding to the responces if you see what I mean.

I'm actually quite suprised at you becasue you you left me positive feedback over a different issue, which you seem to have removed now, you can retain mine becasue your sentiments where quite noble there and I wouldn't be so petty as that.

To all you Murry fans out that there was no intent of offense just curiosity, I actually have not said a single bad thing against this person if you care to read my post carefully.

I'm afraid poor Andy is taking a fearful battering from Stanislas Wawrinka in the US Open quarter finals right now.
Two sets and a break down against a man playing almost superhuman tennis.
Looking grim at the moment .

wow got totally blown away in three sets!! Maybe the pace he was playing at finally caught up with him!! And what effect this defeat has on his chances of reaching the ATP finals in December.

he is still 3rd in the race for London(ATP Tour Finals).

At least he has some time now to prepare for Davis Cup match in Croatia(13th-15th September) where it looks like he will be asked to play 3 matches in 3 days on clay

i always thought wawrinka had potential but he never showed his ability consistently enough it's probably too late in his career now to become one of the top guys but he could be the swiss no 1 next week when the rankings are updated, federer could be out of the top 10

Murray was not anywhere near his best all tournament and his defeat was no surprise bearing in mind how well Wawrinka played. Wawrinka was like a man on a mission. So many shots hitting the lines, he was almost unplayable with such depth on his groundstrokes and quality serving too.

Seems he has opted to have minor back surgery to hopefully sort out the problem he has been suffering with for 18 months and which caused him to miss the French Open this year. Doubtful he will play again this year.
