I'm not a Man U fan but I'm beginning to wonder if he really is the man United needed after Sir Alex. If this carries on, I can't see him lasting until Christmas or until the New Year IMO. To me he needs to start picking players in and settling the side. A lot of fans on 606 last night and Savage felt Fellaiini isn't a United player. But why start with Van Persie on the bench? If Moyes does end up getting fired then maybe Guardiaola will become an interim manager in his place as I feel Guardiola was probably a prime target for United all along.
I think its a bit early to panic at this point. It was always going to be difficult to manage after Fergie. It is after all a regime change. More than a generation of people won't have known a Man United without Fergie so there is a big void to fill.
To be honest the cracks have been appearing for the last couple of years with the need to reinvest in a couple of quality midfielders and defenders. United won the Premiership last season, not because they were outstanding but more that the other teams were even worse over the season. I will say some of Moyes' selections are strange. He seems to have a thing for Ashley Young, who likes nothing more than to give the ball away as soon as possible and Anderson who runs around a lot but achieves very little.
Another concern is that he got rid of the majority of the back room staff in one swoop, people who have great experience, replacing them with his own team who simply have not got the experience at this level. Getting rid of Rene Muelenstein was a big mistake in my opinion.
David Gill being replaced as Chief Exec is a big change too and I fear that Woodward, his notoriously spendthrift replacement is the reason we did so appallingly in the transfer market. I do think that lessons are being learned and United will overcome the poor start but I doubt that this year will be one in which we challenge.
I agree it is hard to follow an act like Ferguson but how much longer man u fans will put up with Moyes remains to be seen.

EH?
Why would Guardiola leave Bayern where he has had a great start and is beginning to mould the team into his own, and come to United to take over a struggling and potentially demoralised squad, that clearly needs investment and rebuilding?
And why would he come as 'interim' manager? You don't get someone of the stature of Guardiola as an 'interim', you get them for the long haul.
Also, Guardiola could have walked into any of the top jobs this year, such was his status. He chose Bayern over them all, why would he now change his mind and come to Utd's rescue? He could have gone to City, a much more likely prospect with a back room staff he is familiar with, and a bottomless pit of money to build his squad, but he still chose Bayern, I don't see any logical reason why he would come to Utd now or any time in the near future.
