Internet Porn Site Regulation

OK so the banks will be ordered to no longer allow credit cards for joining porn sites, 2 questions, will this affect the S66 will this affect shebang and will this affect other sites that need money?

According to what's been posted on this subject before it won't affect anyone who is currently regulated by ATVOD. The measure is apparently designed to deal with sites outside of ATVOD's jurisdiction.

also you can pay in other ways as well as credit cards. for example you can pay to join studio66 website by mobile phone. also things like paypal where you don't need a credit/debit card

It wouldn't surprise me if it's not long before ATVOD rules are brought in line with TV Ofcom rules, ie no hard core R18 material shown even on websites that you need to be age verified in order to view them.

Also how long will the mobile phone method that Rammy speaks about be allowed to be used to join UK websites?, Ofcom have already said this method isn't adequate in ensuring that under 18's are prevented from being able to view hardcore material, they found STD 66 in breach when Ofcom found STD 66 had been breaking the rules by advertising hard core material that people downloaded to their mobile phones, STD 66 told Ofcom that people could only download this material if their phones were adult verified, apparently Ofcom dismissed this claim and stated they thought under 18's could easily get hold of a age verified mobile and found STD 66 in breach .

So like i say, i don't think it will be long now before Ofcom's TV rules and AVTOD internet rules are made roughly the same .

Is Shebang regulated by ATVOD

It say's somewhere in the small print on the Shebang website something about being governed by UK laws, or words to that effect, so yes i assume Shebang is regulated by ATVOD .

Cameron has made it clear that he is opposed to easy access to porn, and that means any payment method that is not age verified.

Expect payment by text, paypal, debit card, prepaid credit card, Sky PIN number, stamps or postal orders to be banned sometime in the future.

You might even be banned from using a credit card unless you have specifically gone to the bank and registered for porn. There is already one European country where people have to go to the Post Office* and register if they want internet porn. Give it time and someone will say some kids are allowed to use their Mum or Dads credit card in between joy riding and drinking cider. Then there will be demand to use webcams for photo recognition or finger print readers.

Correct. Because anyone who is currently regulated by ATVOD is already under control in terms of what material they can show for free, so they don't need this inducement to toe the line.
