it depends on how they look rather than their age for me, 40-45 is not really that old, but i wouldn't have found wendy taylor or patti attractive even when there were in their 20s probably, dionne mendez could be on this show soon as she is almost 40, would i so no to her? of course i fucking wouldn't

I'd never heard of Golden Girls TV show until I read this thread, so I've found out something new at least. Not sure about pinching the title for this channel though as it might cause offence to the TV show owners?

I'll just chuck in my tuppence here...

There's always been a market for the older woman and always will be. I think there are probably two, very different reasons:

1. The best mate's mum fantasy, which is probably one that most guys have had some experience of at one point. That seed is planted deep in our psyche and planted early.

2. Some of us, particularly the 40+/50+ chaps like myself, don't actually see these women as older. The 40+ concept merely opens up an additional avenue of interest for us, as we recognise that both genders over 40 are still sexually active, attractive and relevant.

Those reasons for me, mean that a 40+/50+ performer is something to be appreciated. Of course, not everyone will feel the same and that's fine because its all about opinion. However, one inescapable fact is that if there was no market for these women, they simply wouldn't be on screen. Like them or not, they are popular and have a fan base that keeps them employed.

While the normal age range for menopausal women is between the ages of 40-61, it can infact occur in women from any age from puberty upwards (though rare).
