Dont think anyone writing them off just making observations. I also said Trott needs to get this technical issue sorted its psychological really and probably need to tinker with his trigger movement when receiving.

When did Pietersen last change the course of a game within an hour when the team needed him!

So you saying Johnson is economical!! Finn and Johnson are very similar they do what it says on the tin. We should embrace it no other team in World Cricket would leave a guy out who could get the ball down consistently at 94mph does things to a batsmen head space!

No one says we should go back to the bad old days but change is imminent they are not a young team bar Root, Broad and poss Trott and Cook.

You may have a point about Trotts footwork but he will sort that out, an hour may have been a slight exaggeration but Pieterson,s brilliant 186 against India in the 2nd test on the 2012/13 tour was the main reason we won our first series in India since 1985. He also hit the fastest test 50 by an England player in the final test against Australia earlier this year which would have been a match winning innings had the umpires not taken the teams off. As for Johnson he only got back in the aussie test side because of his performances in the one day series and because of a dearth of fast bowling talent in Australia.

Lunch is taken with England on 98/3. Not a bad session overall despite Pietersen giving his wicket away this morning. Come on England, you can make a real fight of this!

35 minutes before tea and we have a rain break. England are 142/4 with Cook and Root the batsmen. I say rain break but perhaps a hail break would be more accurate.

That was more of a storm than a weather break, but as it happens the sun's out again anyway. The umpires have announced that tea was taken early, meaning therefore that we may not lose too much play. Any time lost might not work in England's favour anyhow, as it gives the Australian bowers a nice rest on what is a very hot day.

Yet again wickets going down inclumps.as the fell from 142-4 to 151-8 losing 4-9.

What's the chances of England making any changes to this batting line-up that has been carried by their bowling attack for far too long,even to the extent that they have been scoring the runs for them aswell.More chance of Tremlett being re[placed by Finn or Bresnan.

We won one session of the entire match (day 1 pre lunch) and have been ripped apart in the other 7.
