I think webcamming might be signalling the death of babe channels -- performers get more money, exert greater control over content, and can work from home. These are powerful attractions.
Combine webcamming with the usual bad production decisions on the babe channels -- bibity bobity boo.
What you all think.
I wouldn't say webcamming would be the death of the channels, if used properly. I'm weighing in because I'm in the webcam shows a lot and I still do call in from time to time.
I'd say webcamming has near 0% control over content, as we've seen with the Clare incident. If anything can be broadcast, it can be recorded somehow.
If there was some pattern to who or when the girls showing up on webcam would be a boon to us that follow them. Aside from Abbey and Gemma Hiles, everyone else is a flip of a coin on who will appear next. Hard to schedule time for girls if I only know when they'll be online 8hrs before they show up. Not saying to write a schedule a month in advance, but if certain girls want to book every alternating sunday, I wouldn't need to cancel on some dinner parties when a girl I like is going to be online.
As for your point on webcamming from home, I'd say it really depends on their internet connection. Some people can suffer through a laggy strobey webcam, but when you've got money to throw down on cheaper better looking webcams, its hard to justify even if it is your favourite girl. Like with the Steph show, I took one step in it; then backed the hell out. If you can't enjoy the show, people will move on to a better show. As I've seen through the Gemma Hiles webcam shows, the internet at the studio is infinitely better then when she's at home. Her home internet isn't terrible, it just isn't perfect. Perfection and consistency is what keeps people coming back.
The babe channels place is bringing girls in that want to be televised and web broadcasted to reach an audience that normal webcamming/normal forms of media can't reach. I know this because while I was extensively active user of the regular webcams [MFC, LJ, F4F], I didn't convert to the babestation girls till I ran across Alice Goodwin in one of her Night shows.
I'd say on any future night girl signings, they should consider if they want to webcam on the side. Webcams combined with nightshow works really well as a combined assault on their fanbase. If the girls are in it for the money, why not use both fists for a 1 - 2 combination to give a resounding knockout?
