Correction, there is no such team as Athletic Bilboa, the team you are probably thinking of is Athletic Bilbao from the Basque region of Spain.

Heard a rumour that United have tabled an offer of £30m for Chile's Arturo Vidal. Hope this is true and successful. Fantastic player and just what we need Big Grin

Man Utd have signed Luke Shaw from Southampton for around £31.5 million

Yes I remember that time Newcastle pissed themselves when some daft twats went and bought a striker for £35 million off them.
Ridiculously over priced agreed...but you buy at the going rate whether fans like it or not-otherwise you have a season like United's last one Big Grin

The point I am getting at though is There are far better players out there for half the money that Liverpool and United are paying out for 2 Southampton Players..

For example, Shaqiri has had CL Experience, played in a few big international Tournaments and scored a world cup hat trick and is going for a rumoured £17m, And Liverpool are paying £30m for Lallana, who has had 1 pretty average season in the PL, is older, no CL experience and not even played a full international game in a big tournament. Makes no sense to me.

It's like United paying over £30m for a leftback, You could probably get Jordi Alba for £10m less than that, Barca paid £11m for him and I would rather have him than Luke Shaw..

I agree but I think it is because he is talented, full of potential and just 18 years old.
