I don't get it. Why the fuck can't they just put it back the way it was, so that the tv set automatically switches the ratio???

The web stream, of course, remains a horrible stretched monstrosity.

I guess that we'll just have to be thankful that, with manual intervention, we can watch an undistorted image; a BIG improvement over what we have 'suffered' over recent days.

I wonder if, having switched PP to 16F16 (in addition to PL), they want, what I assume is their ‘top’ channel, to look as though it is also widescreen? After all, as mentioned, some people don’t seem to mind/notice, no mater how distorted the image is.

I guess that a second email will be required to correct this? If the last few days is anything to go, their own monitoring/technical checks are worthless/non-existent.

BS now seems to be broadcast in the same way that PP used to be i.e. 4:3 with 16:9 switching signal, which should mean that manually changing to 4:3 will give a true, undistorted, full image

Looks like the email did the trick! Big Grin

Yes it does rather look like it, given that all of a sudden everything's OK.

RE: Display problems on Freeview channel 33
It was a pleasant surprise when I switched on my widescreen bedroom tv at midnight last night. Picture was true widescreen. The little box in top corner was oblong not square with 3 girls visible in it. No girls chopped off.
Just checked my PVR recording this morning. This connects to a non widescreen tv. The picture was perfect again with nothing missing and was in 16:9 letterbox mode automatically. First time I've seen it in this mode. Looks just like the Partyland picture now.

Since the problem is now fixed, I will close this thread and some of the recent posts which were not relevant to the problem will be moved to the main Babestation on Freeview channel 33 thread.

[split] Babestation on Freeview channel 33
Oops! The deadly 4:3 camera is on the loose in the studio again. (But thankfully most output is proper 16:9.)

Sorry, had to post here 'cos the display problem thread is closed.

If anyone at Cellcast is monitoring this, the offender is the roving close-up camera.

I moved the above post into this thread, but its probably best to post programme display problems here

A cellcast employee is already posting in the above thread.
