Don't they play any other of their home fixtures outside Birmingham

No

I believe that Birmingham Council funded the new ground improvements,so had a big say in the name change.Their attendances where down last year in comparison to other Test Match venues & this was hoped to help in some way.It was suggested that some people in Birmingham didn't relate to the Warwickshire CC.

Apparently some other counties did propose to change their name for the T20 Blast, but were firmly refused by the respective county committees. Perhaps a step too far for some of the traditionalists?

It's Finals day today..

Ist match is between Birmingham Bears and Surrey
All the England players are available for selection. So Ian Bell is playing.

RE: T20 Blast 2014
Fantastic news Lancashire made it to the final!!!!! I'm a massive Lancashire fan and watched their innings and felt at the end they had a competitive total but Hampshire would win, especially after the total got reduced by duckworth lewis. Had to set off for dr who after the lightning innings finished, so didn't know they had won it till now Smile

Good luck freddie and COME ON LIGHTNING!!!!!!!

RE: T20 Blast
Birmingham failed to make the final this year.
They were well beaten in the semi by Nothants

In the other semi Hampshire were 115 all out in 19.5 overs v Lancashire
