To be fair to the other actors its not so much the choice of Doctor that bothers me, its Moffat and the other writers and producers that ruin it with their politically correct liberal ideas. Get back to basics and put the fear back into early evenings for kids of all ages everywhere...they love that

bytor I thought Tennant was excellent. There was no problem at all for me with him, in fact I always looked forward to the show every week when both Ecclestone and Tennant were in the role. It started going off the rails for me with Matt Smith and I'm not necessarily blaming him, I've always said I'm criticizing Moffat for seemingly going stale with tired ideas that just aren't working. The comedy shit we saw last series and the awful River Song marriage stories were the pits.

My mood certainly wasn't improved when I read a small description of what happens in Saturday's episode. Now that's trepidation - I really think this could be another nail in the coffin for me as far as my interest in the franchise is concerned. I'm not saying any more - let's watch Saturday and see how it goes.

Yes need to wait and see. The optimist in me keeps me tuning in. Tennant made a good start but later on I felt he was playing the role for laughs. Still better than the annoying Virgin adverts he does though

Just watched the next episode and thought it really didn't produce the excitement I'd hoped for.
With this series I very much hoped we would see something exciting and after two episodes in I'm beginning to feel that this series just hasn't produced the spark of the early series and feel very much that the show is beginning to run out of ideas and also feel that This is the series feel much like the wind down of the show.
After last weeks opening episode being something of total disappointment I really hoped that bringing back the Daleks was going to be an exciting thing and be an all action episode, but I think yet again we haven't see any real action.
If Moffat wrote this episode I get the feeling that he is driving the show to a point where simply the BBC will just not commission it after this series ends and just leave it open ended with a simple flick of a switch to turn the lights out on it.

Bet Virgin are paying him more than what the BBC did to do them as well. Then again Usain Bolt probably gets paid more than him!!

I've got to say I've not been overly sold by the latest episodes of Doctor Who, I'm not knocking the new Doctor Peter Capaldi as he's not to blame. He can only work with the scripts that's come his way but yet again for the second week running I've been hugely let down.

I've persevered but when I find myself looking at my watch to see just how long I've got until the end aswell as giving serious consideration to just changing the bloody channel I just know that the magic has gone.

I was a massive fan of the David Tennant era, but he had the advantage of working with great scripts, some of the episodes such as The Girl In The Fireplace kept me gripped and on the edge of my seat.

With regards to the previous Doctor I thought that season 6 was Matt Smiths finest work. I really hope the pace gets picked up, the latest one involving the daleks just bored the ever living shit out of me.

I want to see edge of the seat and the unexpected, not just one episode where it's so predictable and full of cliches I already know how it's going to end

thought it was a good episode myself this evening and overall think it has been a good start to the series. I'm especially liking that it is a lot darker than previous series.

think Peter Capaldi is doing very well so far as the doctor

And did anyone notice that the red shirt Clara was wearing was covered in eyes, that looked like the Dalek antibodies.

I think the Doctor had some good lines this week, almost a bit Malcolm Tucker.
Better than the opening episode, but not much of a story, more like setting up the pieces for later in the series.

Thought this week's episode was OK. I don't think the Daleks have recovered from the one where they were redone in bright colours and looked ridiculous.

Capaldi & Jenna had some nice lines, but the whole flirty sub-plot with the teacher seems like Moff yearning for his crappy sitcom days, which he is welcome to go back to.
