As a side thought what is that YOU on here would do to put things right. You seem to know more about how episodes should be written than the rest of us so I'd like to know what we are all missing that all you clearly see.

lazydayz - was the above aimed at just kal-el or ALL the rest of us slating this show (and rightly so)? If it is aimed at just him I find it puzzling that you'd only pull him up when several of us are saying the same thing in this thread?

If it's aimed at all of us and you want to know what we'd do differently - then just take a trip through this thread and you will see plenty of ideas of what could change, what the BBC shouldn't do, and what the BBC could do but don't have the balls to and above all what the BBC needs to do to stop this show from disappearing forever.

Oh and by the way - for your information it's not all of the critics who write for newspapers that agree upon your view that it was "an exceptionally good episode". Some newspapers I read this morning agreed with us that Moffat should go if there is any chance left that this show can be rescued from oblivion. If you like childish, rushed and unnecessary plotlines then it must be exceptional. If however you are an adult and want just a little bit more from what should be a main Saturday drama - then exceptional is nowhere near an appropriate word.

Your opinion clearly differs from almost everyone else in this thread. Not saying it's wrong to like it, of course not, just saying we have a different view. Wink

What the fuck is the matter with you? Its not a crime to dislike something. Its called freedom of choice. If you like something then thats great but its equally fine for others not to. If you don't like people in this forum speaking THEIR minds then leave. Rolleyes

RE: Dr Who
I was a huge Dr Who fan but this series has been even worse than some of the Matt Smith drivel. It is now more about the relationships between the cast and not SCIENCE FICTION which is what Dr Who should be about. Jenna may be fit as fuck but it was so PC BBC for her to have a black boyfriend and that he was damaged goods. I now class my self as an ex fan as it has been sinking since David Tennant left. Peter Capaldi is a great actor in the wrong role with rubbish scripts. I'll stick with Continuum, The Blacklist and Star Trek re-runs.

RE: Dr Who
Reading some of the reviews reminds me of one important point. Danny is dead, but Clara has previously met her (and Danny's) grandson. So is Clara already pregnant with her and Danny's offspring, or will there be another contrived plot twist so they all live happily ever after?
Perhaps santa gives Clara Danny back as a pressie for being good Rolleyes

I feel I need to put this series to bed for a while, but I'd quite like to revisit it later and watch again, give it a second chance and see if perhaps I have been a bit unkind to it first time round.

It was aimed at ALL the negatives on here rather than any individual, I have read your criticisms and have been constantly puzzled by them.

Here are three reviews by professional critics and this is pretty much representative of opinions elsewhere - and I have watched and read A LOT, including those here.

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entert...44409.html

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-reviews/do...ew-4594413

Like I say, the very reasons you give here for the show being so terrible tend to be the reasons why others are saying how fine it's been.

This is why I am so puzzled, it's nothing personal to any one I just don't get it. It's not perfect and I'm first to spit at Strax but I go overall.

Calm down sister, it's not a crime to disagree either.

RE: Dr Who
Very disappointed - where was the menace from the cybermen, other than upsetting relatives what was the issue about using the dead bodies? Flying cybermen looked like Ironman rip offs. DW needs to get back to visiting other worlds / times rather than saving the Earth yet again. Not looking forward to the Christmas Episode - Unless Santa Nick is a homicidal robot which I doubt Sad

RE: Dr Who
At the risk of incurring the wrath of our resident Dr Who thought policeman Rolleyes I was disappointed by the ending.

I was enjoying it up till the bit where the Tardis landed in the graveyard. Like the tree episode, I was left with the feeling that the Doctor was just a spectator and he didn't actually do anything to save the world. The Cybermen were about as menacing as a toy robot with a flat battery and they just committed 'suicide' in the end. There wasn't even a sense that the master had been thwarted, I couldn't really work out what that was about when she just gave the bracelet to the Doctor at the end Huh

I give it 9/10 up to when the Master did the Mary Poppins impression, then 4/10 up to the Brigadier zapping the Master. And from there to the end....... well, they should just have finished it there tbh bladewave

The Santa was the lead into the Xmas special? I was hoping it was the Children in Need spoof Rolleyes
Still, we can but hope...... Smile
