RE: Scottish Football
Might be slightly off topic here but on Hogmany as you know was BBC Scotlands annual piss take of everything concerning Scottish Football.
The New Year Dundee Derby had it's own comical preview as you can see.
I also happened to stumble across this video of a Hamilton supporter getting rather carried away watching the Play Final back in May from the comfort of his own living room. I shudder to think what his reaction might have been had the penalties not gone his way

RE: Scottish Football
Get in there, final score from Hampden Park in the League Cup Semi Final.
Dundee United 2 Aberdeen 1
The other semi Final between Celtic and Rangers takes place tomorrow.
Nadir Ciftci celebrates after scoring the winning goal.
The Final takes place on the 15th March, I'll be going as by that point I'll probably be off the crutches and back to normality

RE: Scottish Football
So it'll be a Dundee United v Celtic Final. I have to admit the Celtic/Rangers game didn't make for good viewing, it was one sided with 2 cracking goals by Celtic without really having to break any sweat. I hope they sort the pitch out for the final as a bowling green it wasn't.
Towards the end we had the cliched and staged mellie between the 2 sets of players but ofcourse that was already promised on the ticket before a ball was even kicked so as to give the fans value for money

RE: Scottish Football
I now know how Doddle felt when Alex Neil left Hamilton and as predicted they sort of went by the way side. It's a sad state of affairs these days when great managers and players aren't able to cement their place in clubs outside the old firm.
A few weeks ago I was confident that Celtic might get a title challenge this season but with the recent signings of arguably our 2 best players Gary Mackay Stevens and Stuart Armstrong then I expect Celtic to go on to win the league title with relative ease.
My hopes of also bringing the League Cup back to Tannadice have quickly dashed, ofcourse Jackie Macnamara has to put a brave face on it but deep down he'll be a bruised manager.
Well done to Celtic for signing 2 of the most promising players in Scottish football as the only positive I can take from this is the return of more homegrown talent featuring more in the Scottish game now after 2 decades previously of so-called big signings from foreign lands. I expect to see the national side making more progress now in the forthcoming years.
