Well after an early scare we duefully went on to on to hand Gibraltar a thrashing

I think it was really important that we scored as many as we could as I suspect that at the end of the campaign that goal difference might just be the deciding factor in that all important qualifying.

I'm desperate for us to make it to the finals as I've never been to a major tournament. 1998 being the last time we ever qualified for a major finals. To put things in perspective.

Back in 1998 I went down to my local boozer as a young 20 year old man to watch Scotland take on Brazil wondering just what the fuck Darren Jackson was doing in the same tunnel as Ronaldo, it was back in the day before the babe channels were ever even born, you could smoke in the pubs and we had the ITC not ofcom.

With the other match played last Sunday night which finished Rep Of Ireland 1 Poland 1 this has given us a massive opportunity. It would be great to also see the Irish qualify aswell and that's who we have up next. Win in Dublin and I'm fairly certain that we can start making plans for the European Championships.

Easier said than done I suspect. Having followed the National team all my life I've had my fair of disappointments to contend with as have every other country man of my nation.

I remember thinking the impossible could have been done back in 2007 when we came so close to qualifying for Euro 2008 after beating the likes of France and Italy in our group and at one point we even topped the table only for it all to end up in glorious failure so for that reason alone I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground.
