RE: Formula 1
The McLaren Honda actually has some great potential. The aero package is said to be decent enough, and looked it throughout cornering. The problem lies with the Honda power unit at the moment. Honda have admitted the car was detuned to help provide some race finishing reliability, which in turn gives them a bag of useful information since they haven't had much testing (that was the point).
I'm not sure just how detuned the engine was, but it sounds like it may have been quite substantial, in which case once Honda have made the necessary solutions we could see a dramatic improvement in race pace.

Never count Honda out, they never give in and the car is still under much development.

Edit: I see Red Bull are having a good old cry about their current situation, going as far as to make threats of leaving unless the regulations change.
The toys are really flying out the pram now ( perhaps they have toys made by Mercedes laugh)
Quite funny that because you didn't see them complaining when the regulations suited them, now they're struggling themselves they are now making idle (IMO) threats to leave Rolleyes

RE: Formula 1
Lewis has achieved the fastest time in the Malaysian free practice session, only 0.3 seconds faster than Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen. So hopefully Ferrari will take it to Mercedes this weekend and provide some competition for them - but I doubt that.
Meanwhile, Renault are now throwing toys around after receiving criticism for their engine and also threatening to leave F1. It would seem their relationship with Red Bull is on stoney ground with the chief of Renault not being so happy with Adrian Newey's apparent comments which blamed the downfall of Red Bull this year completely on the engine (Renault)
Also there's rumour of Renault buying Torro Rosso and becoming an independent manufacturer team once again.

That would be great -- well, as long as Flavio Briatore is not running the team Tongue

Watching the qualifying replay, and Eddie Jordan has just exclaimed "Sheet fork lightning!"

What shocking language for daytime BBC. Wink

Ferrari seen to have a winning car this year, after Sebastian Vettel beat both the Mercedes drivers in the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso left Ferrari and finished well down and out of the points. But it still uncertain as to what happened during his testing accident last month.

RE: Formula 1

Last year, Mercedes had the luxury of being able to fuck up the strategy and still win. We found out today, at Mercedes expense, that this is no longer the case.

RE: Formula 1
A much better viewing experience with the Malaysian Grand Prix over Australia.
Mercedes seemingly did make a rather complacent strategy decision that arguably cost them the race.
Having said that, the way their car was chewing through it's tyres it might not have been such an easy win regardless.
I agree, it was nice to see Ferrari give them some competition and therefore create a much better viewing forecast for the 2015 championship.
I'm still eager to see what McLaren can eventually come up with, they seem to have made small improvements but still have much work to do.
Good race, enjoyed it.

During the morning practice session, a man ran across the track, jumped over the pit wall and tried to get into the Ferrari garage, saying that he "really wanted to try out one of the cars"

Lewis Hamilton beat Nico Rosberg to take pole position in the Chinese Grand Prix.
Will the Mercedes tyres last better than they did in the last GP?
