I say it is coming down them, as you can see the overhang on the edges of the steps.

forgetting the cat and looking at the stairs the camera is definately looking up because its the riser you can see with the lip of the tread also the stone insert of the side where the step is attached to the stringer is horizontal not vertical. sorry dont know much about cats know a lot about stair cases Wink
