Nah i think south africans would have prob won it without bribery because it was time for african continent to have the tournament

dont like this goverment thing about having 2022 if its taken away from qatar. been trying to make it that its not about sour grapes and then they pull a stunt like that

wouldnt mind us bidding for 2026 be good be 60 years since 66 quite apt to have it then

I wonder how many referees from past and present World Cups will are now wondering if they will be caught up in this scandal? I'm sure (and wouldn't surprise me if it came to light), that there were more than a fair few bungs in that direction.
I reckon FIFA's money is dirtier than the Mafia's money or if any of those charged may even have Mafia connections too.
I have a feeling that this going to be even bigger than the IOC scandal or the scandal over the lottery.

I didn't think that would be possible incidentally where would our star be like it is on the Brazilian shirts?

Yes it's true. A convenient late rule change prevented any possibility of France and Germany being drawn together. After all if they stuck to the original plan of not having seedings it could have been France against Germany and Ireland against Bosnia and FIFA wouldn't have wanted that.

^you could say that they were making up the rules as they go along with that!! what are the chances of us being drawn in a group we couldn't possibly hope to win?
I think they will stick us up to ensure we have to go through the play offs

I wondered about this too. But I know that World Cup revenue -- TV rights and sponsorship -- rocketed after USA '94. I suspect that that is when the stakes changed. It was set up as a "charity" and a governing body, but suddenly had revenues in the billions. That probably left lots of scope for manipulation and abuse of power.

There are certainly a couple that leave me mystified. I had a tenner on South Korea at 100-1 against Italy in 2002. So I'm definitely not complaining about the result! But I still can't believe some of the calls in that game. Outrageous. Italy was robbed. And it was no bad thing for the tournament for one of the host countries to go through to the quarter finals. So, y'know ... hmmmmmm?

FBI will follow the money trail and the disclosures of people that flip. If any of that leads to referees, then I'm sure they will go there. But I seriously doubt that they will take it on themselves to start investigating dodgy on-pitch decisions.

It does seem strange how they managed to acquire billions in revenue for a 'charity'!
I wonder how many people still question the calls in that Korea Italy game today and not to mention the hand of God incident how that referee could still allow that when we all can see clearly it was handball still smacks of a bung being taken.

Dont think you have the facilities you only really have the arriva stadium. Could do one with say Wales and Scotland would have enough stadia then
