Cover versus Original

Bit of a conundrum with this one about which is the original, since it was written by Steinberg & Kelly for Roy Orbison who recorded it in 1987. The Orbison recording however wasn't released until 1992 AFTER Cyndi Lauper had already had a hit with the song. I know Orbison is a legend but with this song I think I prefer Cyndi Lauper's version.

Metallica wins this one for me hands down.

I was thinking about a cover thread when I watched some country dude doing Guns of Brixton on a show the other night.

It's always odd to find a thread you already contributed to and clean forgot about (ahem).

I would've try to upload the vids like the above as a comparison but I'm not sure how to do it.
