RE: Sin TV - General Chat & Discussion
Just to clear a few things up, broadcasters/licencees do need to provide Ofcom with full company details including shareholder and director info and company accounts including the latest accounts available, they need to do this when first applying for a licence and again when providing Ofcom with their annual company report and renewing their existing licence .
The company behind Sin TV is a new company, so wouldn't be able to give much company account details, although they would still need to give Ofcom all company details Ofcom require
Ofcom has a duty to ensure prospective company's applying for a broadcasting license are fit and proper to hold a licence, new company's that can't provide accounts will i assume need to assure Ofcom that they have finances required to be able to broadcast TV programs and hold a licence .
I read a article somewhere that Ofcom were supposedly going to be more diligent and doing more checks concerning the finances of company's applying for new licences (or something like that) as they didn't want company's setting up new channels with limited finances running out of money, resulting in various other company's needed to broadcast TV programs not getting paid, i think that was the jist of it anyway .
So if the girls/staff not getting paid is due to the company behind Sin TV running out of money, then Ofcom has granted a licence to a company that after a very short time has no money left in the Kitty, so maybe that could be a concern for Ofcom ? .
Concerning what i posted about broadcast licencees having their licences revoked for reasons other than what is broadcast on screen etc, i was talking about all broadcasters/licencees in general, not specifically about babe channel broadcasters .
Just to clarify, as far as i'm aware the babe channels that so far have had their licenses revoked for various reasons are : Babe Star, Bang Babes, Babeworld, House Of Fun, The Other Side, Live 960 .
All were separate licencees on paper a believe, Ofcom revoked the licences of channels named, Babeworld, The House Of Fun and The Other Side, because in Ofcom's view they had lost control of what was being broadcast on those channels, (or something like that) .
A contributing factor to Live 960 having it's licence revoked, was i believe that they repeatedly failed to give the updated director details to Ofcom (or something like that)
