Not a bad morning for Australia, adding 97 for the fall of the last 3 wickets. There was no Anderson for England of course, after his injury yesterday, but Finn took 6/79 (and 8/117 in the match). Now it looks like England will face a couple of overs before lunch.

Great performance from England they bowled beautifully on a pitch that suited their attack perfectly. It was also good to see Ian Bell rediscovering some form after a lean few months but Lyth seems hopelessly out of his depth as a test opener.

Yes England won well, but the opening problem still needs to be corrected. Can anyone explain to me why Ali isn't opening?

I would sy that is purely down to the pitches not offering little turn for spinners at the moment

Ali is not considered to be good enough to open at test level, when playing for Worcestershire it is usually in more of a pinch hitting role and he is not up against 90 mph bowling.

So what's gonna happen at Trent Bridge tomorrow, lads?

The Barnsley Lara will be a big loss, but can Wood step up to the plate? Can Finn bowl as well as he did in the last test? Will Broad run through them one more time?
